[Louisiana Senator] Landrieu Moves PAC Funds to Vulnerable Democrats

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) was among the top beneficiaries of campaign donations from Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) leadership Political Action Committee during the second half of 2009, according to a bi-annual Federal Election Commission report filed Thursday.

Landrieu dished out $10,000 to Reid, who is facing an increasingly tough re-election this cycle. Both those checks came in September before Landrieu became a key swing vote on the health care reform bill that was championed by Reid.

Reid may also benefit down the road from a $5,000 donation Landrieu made to the Nevada State Democratic Party on Dec. 22, the same day the health care bill was passed by the Senate.

Landrieu also gave fellow moderate Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.) two checks in September that totaled $10,000. Lincoln is also facing a tough re-election and is currently competing with Reid for the dubious honor of most vulnerable Democratic Senator of the cycle now that Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) has announced his retirement.

Landrieu's PAC also donated $10,000 during the second half of 2009 to Rep. Charlie Melancon (D) who is challenging Sen. David Vitter (R) for Louisiana's other Senate seat. She cut a $10,000 check to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee in July.

From July to December 2009 Lincoln made $108,500 in contributions from her leadership PAC. That's up from $52,500 in contributions disbursed during the first half of the year. JAZZ PAC ended the year with just over $35,000 in cash on hand.

Oh my, I thought it was 2012 - long way to go. We have got to let her know from time to time we will NEVER forgot the sell out of America or as the Media likes to call it the 2nd Louisiana Purchase. She did not listen to us. I tried calling her office before cloture and vote - busy lines - heard the phones were off the hook. Finally got on radio with my complaints. I wonder if any staff was listening.

Mary “Chubs” Landreau did even better than Hillary’s cattle futures. She gave Harry “The Weasel” Reid a mere $10,000 and got $300 million in return. The imbecile voters in LA admire that sort of thing, and she will grow senile in that Senate seat.

And now her little brother, Mitch, who looks just like her without the hair, is trying to be mayor of New Orleans. Has a good shot at it.

People need to vote their freedom and opportunity. If the Dems fail on both let them waste their money wherever they want.
