Tubebender,

I don’t have a tin-foil hat (yet) but I do try not to tempt fate. I no longer ride on the skids of a helicopter wearing muddy boots while getting shot at, I don’t take a bath with the plugged in radio on the lip of the tub and I’ve learned to let the experts put an electrical sub-panel in my home that I’m re-modeling. I moved to Oregon from California because an Oregon girl moved my heart not because California land shook my body BUT I’ve seen the collapsed over-passes near San Francisco and Northridge and I’ve watched miles of telephone poles undulating in the flat Imperial Valley. I had the bravado and attitude that Californians have to have about earthquakes - indifference, jokes and “where were you when”....(yes I was, once, but this is a family thread! :) You can have the motto of “Leben und leben lassen” (live and let live) but earthquakes are indiscriminate in time and place, darn it. Yeah, we’re all going to meet our Lord sometime but I’d just prefer that when I do it won’t be because my body has become a James Bond martini.

Glad the earth is settling down there. Do you have natural gas or propane? If so, do you have one of those automatic shutoff thing’s?

Of course, there are pros and cons for those - if the earth shakes just a little bit they will usually shut off and you have to call gas Co - but better safe than sorry. The gas line was always my biggest fear!!

Our internet service is back!

Wow that was an unpleasant exp.

KV and I have been busy so not to painful.

However I really rely on the internet to read myself to sleep or back to sleep.

Just really goes to show how important a tool the internet is esp. on a day like today where we are home and I am doing my shift to shift KV care.

We both share the internet tv screen and so it also keeps communication going between us.

The scenic coastal drive to go in search of the SF migrant Sea Lions was very good therapy for us.

Got us both laughing and out of the work/living winter enviroment.

THe weather was awesome and it was obvious that many others had the same idea as parking in the look outs and parks along the coast were busy.

I did find one non public one and got out to look through the binoculars before unloading KV from the bus and two State Troopers swooped in right in front of the bus.

I had that natural nervous what did I do (nothing) reaction and as I walked back to the bus as few feet away I relized they were just putting a game plan together and then they sped off back from the direction they came from.

We then went down as a suprise to KV to a Casino he had never been to.

A new place is always exciting and can really be hard on his nuero issues but he did really well.

The casino is very small and he was making jokes about it was about as exciting as the nature scenic drives, he would rather be in a lecture about Marine Science than look at the ocean and all the beauty off the coastline.

It was good winter therapy to go on a day trip and with clear dry warm weather and being up in his WC on the bus he was able to breathe easier and allow the copious clear secreations to flood out without the public being concerned and trying to offer help or consistantly telling me he is choking, when it is normal for him and good to get some relief from the nueoro lung spasms.

The end result was the break through in getting him to discuss what has been bugging him as another care provider and I were communicating he revieled that he is having (natural human) Male needs for a female companion.

Oh.
This seems to be a common need in people who are single but not by choice.

Not much I can relate to as a person who is single/chaste by choice and enjoys the lifestyle of such.

He had some male visitors over so hopefully that was of some support.

All of whom are married and as they came to say bye to me I told each one (all older men) that they are very fortunate to have a wife/partner for life. It is a good thing for man not to be alone if not by choice.

LOL That is exactly what God had in mind as he says so in the Bible.
Even in chapter where he speaks on how the single chaste life is so much easier when dealing with the world but if human desire is overwhelming then it is better to have a wife.

As an ex Player player before my conversion to Catholic Chaste Conservative decades ago I can say thanks be to God for Dogs (the four legged ones).
We have always had a troop of 3 around for our amusement and companionship and as you other doggie careproviders know dogs dont hold a grudge/demand anything other than love/food/care and play time.

It is the ultimate no drama companionship.
They dont lie, cheat, steal or harbor evil intentions the humans are capable of.

Best of all the only thing they nag about is the twice a day meal time call and snack time.

OK back to my next shift of careproviding for KV and doggie breakfest time.

Glad to be back online in Oregon as a huge storm has just hit! Blowing hard and raining Cats and Dogs, so thrilled to be an indoor worker today~
