WASHINGTON (AP) - Sarah Palin believed that Sen. John McCain chose her to be his running mate in 2008 because of "God's plan," according to a top political strategist in the Arizona Republican's campaign.
In an interview with the CBS news magazine "60 Minutes," Steve Schmidt described Palin as "very calm—nonplussed" after McCain met with her at his Arizona ranch just before putting her on the Republican ticket. McCain had planned to name Sen. Joe Lieberman, I-Conn., as his vice presidential choice until word leaked, sparking what Schmidt called political blowback over picking the 2000 Democratic vice presidential nominee.
Schmidt said he asked Palin about her serenity in the face of becoming "one of the most famous people in the world." He quoted her as saying, "It's God's plan."

I get the impression, which is strengthened by Sarah’s book, that McCain is kind of a turkey. Sarah ALWAYS speaks favorably of McCain. But it’s clear that he doesn’t really control his campaign. His staff does—and a mysterious HQ that sends down commands from above, which everyone just has to obey.
What is this “HQ”? The RNC? George Soros? Donald Duck? Who on earth knows. But McCain seemed to be perfectly happy letting it tell him what to do.

Yes, Palin says in her book, that she turned her life over to Christ and what happens is his will. The Christian believes that God has a plan for every human being. Shocker.

I am absolutely certain that the choice of Sarah Palin as the VP candidate was part of God’s plan. That fact makes me feel a whole lot better than I would otherwise. I am equally certain that the choice of the anti-American socialist, Obama, as the democrat presidential candidate was also part of God’s plan. That fact doesn’t make me feel nearly as good. Together, they tell me that we have a choice to make as individuals and as a country. I hope and pray that we will make the right choice.

The early Palin interviews were clearly intended to throw Palin under the train, probably because she was the “Rock Star” and McCain looked like Elmer Fudd by comparison. Either that, or his staff was a special kind of stupid to believe that Couric and the rest would not do anything to trap Palin, while ALWAYS being kind to Obama.
Sarah is the greatest threat to “commander zero” and must be destroyed at all costs.
