I think they should attack cap & trade on the science. Earth’s atmosphere is not a backyard greenhouse. Western technology has the best pollution free industry etc. Should not spend any money on such a weak theory.

Too much to sell the masses in a campaign IMO. The policies that need to be addressed in the campaign have to be consumable to the public without glazing over the eyes.

FReepers understand the cap and trade situation, but most folks would look around for somebody smart to tell ‘em what to do, and that’s a situation where the Left pretends better.

Oil, Drill here, drill now.
Nukes, Build here, build now.

That sort of thing with a commonsense energy promise along with the ten points in Mr. Judges article IMO should do it.

Jobs

Except for our military, the federal government shoould not be in the "jobs" business.

Jobs should be in the private sector.

The problem today is, the government is destroying the private sector so businesses are not hiring.

3) Start talking about the need to reform Social Security and Medicare. Swing voters know these programs could devastate federal finances. They want assurance that politicians know this, too, and are committed to fixing them. Talk of reforming these programs is no longer the third rail of politics. It will win the swing voters' respect.

Going to be nearly impossible to do this given the "don't mess with Medicare" mantra of both the GOP and the Tea Party groups as it relates to health care.

7. The House and Senate GOP caucuses should walk away from earmarks, leaving Democrats alone to defend this symbol of D.C.'s degeneracy.

Well, good luck with that one. But, it would be a marvelous start.

Thanks for the ping, GOP_Lady
