>Hey brother freepers. Dont we have a barn to raise or something this month?
Yessum, brother posterchild. Right after you fix mah carriage, and place 17 inch rims on them.

It would be great if the only people not exempt were the leftist mainstream “Protestant” churches and non-Orthodox Jews, who happen to be the groups most likely to have supported 0bama.

We don’t have health insurance. We’re in a Christian Share Ministry program where we share each others major medical bills. I heard that there is an exemption for these types of programs also. It will be interesting to see. We haven’t had health insurance for probably 10 years or so, but our bills have always been paid.

I have no problem with the Amish exemption, but does that mean fat old grumpy white men can also opt out?

I’ll trade you 3 butter churns for a quilt. Let’s keep this trade off the books and untaxed.

Remind me, Brother... what day of the week do we Amish have services? Every OTHER Sunday is a "Church Sunday", held in the homes of the "church district" on a rotating basis.
Wedding are only on Thursdays in November.
Seriously--I live near an Amish community.

(If healthcare reform is passed, 41 years old will be the new 65 YO.)
I am now Amish but I’m part of the new generation of Amish.
Cars, makeup, a good wine often, hdtv, yes, electricity, plumbing and heat, bonnets are banished and we’re allowed to shop at JCrew, Abecrombie, Anthopologie, Belk, Target and Whole Foods. Jeans are designated for everyday wear.
Women are allowed employment outside the home rendering 50% of her pay to the household. Men are allowed to read this and weep.
To: posterchild
Oak, brother. Please forgive me but I will be only be paying in churned butter. How much would you need for this service?
To: al baby

3 lbs should be sufficient - just ring that bell by Kelly McGillis’ house and I’ll come by to pick it up.

I have a feeling the “Amish” population is about to add a lot of converts.

If the final bill includes funding for abortion, couldnt millions of Catholics and conservative Protestants obtain religious conscience exemptions?
All kidding about churning butter and barn raising aside, I agree with you and wonder if we as Christians, conservatives, Catholics could not claim religious conscience exemptions. I do think this exemption is reserved just for NY and I don’t know how it could be limited to one religious group.
