As can be seen from Obama’s own mouth, at about 5:55 into the above video, he clearly says that his name is Steve.
Based on this admission, the citizen-researcher requested from Janice Okubo, Communications Director for the Hawaii Department of Health, the index data for all the Steve Dunhams in their registry for an individual born August 4, 1961. The request was made on Oct. 29, 2009. The answer came on November 10.

"UIPA REQUEST CONFIRMS QUIP, EXPLAINS MULTIPLE ORIGINAL VITAL RECORDS OF BARACK OBAMA" (Steve Dunham)
An intrepid citizen-researcher has confirmed that the man who goes by the name Barack Hussein Obama II has an original vital record kept by the Hawaii Department of Health which bears the name Steve Dunham.

PING!
Watched video. He doesn’t say ‘Steve Dunham’.
book mark
Good grief. So now we get to wonder whether his real name is Barry Soetero, Barack Hussein Obama, or Steve Dunham.
What next?
Godzilla?
We still don’t know whether Stanley Ann was married to Obama or not. This article seems to suggest that she was not, since polygamous marriages were only permitted in colonial Kenya among the natives, and Stanley Ann didn’t qualify. Therefore any marriage would have been bigamous and void.
Complication after complication. But I can well believe that Steve was born in the Coast Province.
Did you link the wrong video? No name mentioned of Steve Dunham at 5:55 mark.....
So, let’s see here.... it’s Barak Insane Obama, aka Barry Soetero, aka Steve Dunham, aka the commie filth with whom I’d like to mop the floor. Got it!
The citizen-researcher began her quest following a comment made by Obama at

As can be seen from Obamas own mouth, at about 5:55 into the above video, he clearly says that his name is Steve.
Nope, he doesn’t. Don’t know where they got that info.
So we finally have a president named Steve.
From the article:
"As can be seen from Obamas own mouth, at about 5:55 into the above video, he clearly says that his name is Steve."
Although, I don't hear him say "Steve", either, around the 5:55 mark.
mark. ???????????????? ........
Just proves that zero’s a lieing bastard.
It’s from the Alfred E. Smith dinner (comedic, self-deprecating humor) and he never says anything about his name being Steve. This is ridiculous.

Mr. Charlton replies: In intrepid researchers actual request was for Steve Dunham, Steven Dunham, and Stephen Dunham. So to answer your question, no. I did not mention this detail in the article, but I should have
I listened to the last minute, and no Steve. This is ridiculous.
Agreed. See my follow-up post’s at 12 and 16. Also, the comment that he doesn’t say “Steve” on the video has been posted in the P&E comments section....awaiting moderation.
So ‘Steve Dunham’ was born in Mombassa, Kenya, and the Dunham’s immediately change his name upon return from Hawaii to Barack Obama? The name change to Barack Obama makes it into the newspaper birth announcements?
Whoever is claiming that he said his name is “steve” needs a hearing aid. I sees from the thread that not one of us heard it.
From the source article:
"[Editor's note: The video that appeared at this point the previous version of this report, was incorrectly cited.]"
Yup, If Obama referred to himself as Steve, it wasn’t in that video.
So is there a video out there where Obama says I’m Steve?
The editor appears to have now added this (in place of the youtube vid earlier):
The citizen researcher began her quest, following two lines of research: 1) the fact that the name Steve Dunham appears in records associated with Obamas alleged mother, Stanley Ann Dunham; and 2) the fact that Obama himself is said to have quipped that he could have chosen between the names Barack Hussein Obama or Steve Dunham (as some of whose followers know cf. YYouhans comment).
Perhaps just as important, if not more so, is if the alleged UIPA REQUEST really did come back "positive" for a "Steve Dunham" born on 8/4/1961. If true, what are the odd's of that being someone else?
2 years later and we still don’t know whether he’s even a US citizen or what his legal name is. Way to go state run media.

Right on the money with both comments!

John, I remember hearing this speech and he did say Steve. Was the video tampered with? I saw MSNBC at the beginning.

Mr. Charlton replies: As I cannot view videos, through my internet connection, I have relied on what others are saying about this video.

Since 4 commentators have viewed it and said that no where does this quip occur in that segment, I have pulled it from the article.
However, the segment may not be complete. Those who say this quip did occur, do all indicate that it occured during such a public meeting, and some identify it with this dinner. Ill leave the question to be resolved by those who can view videos."
“A grand jury can indict a ham sandwich but the SRM can get one into the oval office.”
LoL!
Steve??? Oh my.
I’m still trying to figure out who that Dunham-Schippleck chick is who is listed with the happy little family in HI and NY.
I thought perhaps I missed something. Went back and listened to the whole dang thing (UGH) and no ‘Steve’ was said anywhere in that video!
***HOLD THE PHONE!
In this video at the Alfred E. Smith dinner,
at the 1:30 mark, he say’s his MIDDLE name
is Steve
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SkFjTCscM4&feature=player_embedded#
I think he said Weave Dunham
This was at an annual dinner in which the candidates roast themselves & the other opponent, mostly themselves and yes, at some point during the evening Obama said he could have been Steve, but not in any context that would have connected it to the birther file of evidence.
I saw the entire video when it 1st aired in 2008 & it was hillarious. Obama totally fell flat on his face, while McCain took down the house.
Look at posts #23, 26 and 30 for updates. Also, at this point, the alleged UIPA REQUEST and what the results of it were, is still on the table as well.
No wonder......totally different video than above. Says Part 2.
This whole thing makes no sense. It is a hoax. An obvious hoax.
Transcript of Barack Obama’s Comedy Roast at Al Smith Dinner
Obama said this:
“That was a tough primary you had there, John. Anyway. Anyway, that’s who I really am. But in the spirit of full disclosure, there are a few October surprises you’ll be finding out about in the coming weeks. First of all, my middle name is not what you think. It’s actually Steve. That’s right. Barack Steve Obama.”

This is a VERY early developing story so far as I know, but I haven't heard anyone discredit that yet.
Also a joke...says his name is Barack Steve Obama.
How so? I’m simply asking because I don’t know one way or another. I haven’t proven, yet, that the UIPA request never took place, or that the state of HI never confirmed a Steve Dunham as being born on 8/4/1961 (in the index).
It sounds like the author of this article is saying that Hawaii affirmed that they have a record of a “Steven Dunham” born on the same day as Obama. If this is true what are the odds?
So Obama was pretty brazen at the comedy dinner if this is true.
Indeed! And that, is the really story here that should be followed up on. Not from where someone got the idea to initiate a UIPA request on the name Steve Dunham. I’m sure folks have submitted such requests for hundreds of names/variations for Barry.
Info ping to an interesting development. :-)
If the tape doesn’t say that, looks like another dead end on the COLB front.
Agreed. That’s the part of the article folks should be focusing on, and not the mistakenly placed youtube vid that the editor has since removed.
I remember watching it that night and him saying his name was Steve. It stuck with me as someone posted a list of alternate names/soc. security numbers and Steve or Steven Obama was listed as one of them. I thought it curious and wondered if in jest, he was really telling the truth.
