To the nightmare of Haiti, the Americans are coming
CFP ^ | January 13, 2010 | Judi McLeod

In the nightmare of Haiti, Americans were first to respond just as Americans have always responded, recession-bound or not.

This is the giving spirit of America in action. Not waiting for anyone else, just doing what is necessary to help, without boasts, without expecting anything back. Simply America.

America has always been there for others and always will be.

Even a falling-in-the-polls President Obama whose conduct since election has been to belittle the spirit of America and its people is cashing in today on that generosity, promising to a shocked and grief stricken people his “unwavering support” and a “swift and coordinated effort”.

Beleaguered Americans losing their homes and jobs will rush in to help Haitians with food, temporary shelters; emergency service of every kind.

The American military, a welcome sight the world over even though politicians try to state otherwise, will be there for the people beginning with rescue and recovery efforts, remaining to build water purification facilities, repairing infrastructure and rebuilding.

In consideration of how America rushes to the side of the world’s most disadvantaged nations when hit by sudden disaster, it is difficult to comprehend how its leader can spread a message worldwide about an America so bad it needs overhauling.

“Not waiting for anyone else, just doing what is necessary to help, without boasts”

Trust me—obamination WILL get around to the boasting part. I can just hear it—”Let there be no mistake about it, I sent aid to a shaken country, etc, etc”

He will somehow claim it was due to global warming.

Jeb Bush had no business letting that earthquake get past Florida.

That earthquake machine Halliburton secretly built for Dick Cheney is located in Rush Limbaugh's basement under the golf course...

The American taxpayer gives Haiti 10 Billion dollars in the last 5 years.

And we are the ‘evil white man’....

Well, Rush has lost a lot of weight and it had to go somewhere.

According to liberals, Rush was “fat” gas bag, so anything he said wasn't worth considering, yet Madeline Albright used a fishing trawler rig to get into her girdle before she met with the nutty little Elvis impersonator in North Korea to swill champagne...

Rush is 99% correct. The truth is that light skinned Negros have opressed the dark skinned Negros in Haiti for years. They are called Mullato. They run the whole show.

I had a friend tell me this would have been a disaster anywhere.. I do not agree.
Just a brief look at most deadly earthquakes and 7.0 is nothing.
The 89 San fran was 6.9 and hardly any chaos as we are seeing today. Sumatra 2004 was 9.1 with a much larger area and amount of people.

This natural disaster in Haiti is Exhibit A in what corruption can do to innocent people. The magnitude of the earthquake 7.0 proves that when compared to similar populations and larger magnitude earthquakes in relation to death tolls.

Sadly, my friend is too naive to appreciate the brief statistics I provide above and somehow it will all be our fault because we didn't give enough aid prior.

True dat. A 7.0 here would cause some damage, and few deaths, if any. But there.....whole different story.

Even tropical storms there cause more devastation and death, than a Category 5 hurricane hitting here.
