From the article, quoting a BYU student: I respect him. I think that he basically does do a good job of representing Mormons in general, said Kelsey Jorgenson, a BYU student from Las Vegas. He is a political leader after all, and I think he puts on a good public face. I think its a good thing that he is a Democrat and a Mormon.
This student is simply parroting back what Harry Reid told BYU students Oct. 9, 2007: "I am a Democrat because I am a Mormon, not in spite of it," he said.
Reid made that remark to over 4,000 such BYU students, faculty & administrators, who warmly welcomed Harry Reid to their campus in October, 2007: At the end of his speech, Reid earned a standing ovation from a small percentage of the crowd and applause from the rest. (Deseret News, Oct. 10, 2007)
The BYU-sanctioned event provided Mormon political & religious leaders a common platform to attack Evangelicals: Reid also told reporters the Republican Party has been driven by evangelical Christians for 20 years. "They are the most anti-Christian people I can imagine, the people from the Christian far right." (Deseret News, Oct. 10, 2007)

Lite skinned Moron of the year.
Sheese! Do these ‘elders’ have ANY CLUE whatsoever?
That has to be a typo. It had to be “Moron of the Year”.
Reid doesn’t seem to have a Mormon dialect, “unless he wanted to have one”.
HA!
GREAT one!
Thanks for the laugh!
Well, she's certainly been indoctrinated in Democrat spin...
How about something he’s earned... like MORON of the Year.
My pleasure! I couldn’t resist.
Yea remove the second m in mormon.
Then add it to mmassachusettes.
OK — now I’m laughing! Good one! Isn’t it amazing how Dims provide us with such a “target rich environment”!
Jack-Mormons are eligible for this award?
Harry Reid is just not that much of a Mormon. Hence the term “jack-Mormon”, which is a pejorative.
Any class of hypocritical, self-righteous b*****ds that are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and are prim and proper on Sunday morning and in front of other Mormons, but swear like sailors at work, secretly drink like a fish, (possibly) cruise the net for kiddie porn on their work computers and are man-wh**es all over town.
Nice. I want to hear a statement from Mitt Romney regarding this award to Harry.
Since when does a Senator “outrank” a Governor? I guess it depends on one’s point of view.
Whew! I sure am glad I’m not one of them Jack-Mormons!
Hey ... how about Harry “Jack-Sh_t-Moron”
How about Jack-booted Moron.
I respect him. I think that he basically does do a good job of representing Mormons in general, said Kelsey Jorgenson,
I thought he represented NEVADA. I didn’t even know Mormon WAS a State. Learn sumpin’ new on FreeRepublic every day!
Ony in mmassacchussettes, where a dead Senator outranks the Governor.
REid is a mormon?!! i think that is so interesting. strange how the only mormon politicians of which i am aware...are all republicans?
Talk about trying to improve one’s ‘image’.
I am wondering if he got that from the ‘people he can smell’ coming into the white house?
