Why Is President Obama Speaking About Haiti Again?
ABC News ^ | 01/15/10 | Jake Tapper

Posted on 01/15/2010 11:15:25 AM PST by AtlasStalled

Jake Tapper from ABC News asks why Barack Obama "is speaking today about Haiti, for the third time in as many days":

White House officials say . . . Haiti is in dire straits. This is a nation that had little to begin with. As opposed to what might be the case had the earthquake struck elsewhere in the hemisphere, Haiti has nearly no ability to deal with this severe crisis on its own.

Because talk is all this wimpy, milquetoast, teleprompter-driven Kenyan knows. He sure as hell can't throw a baseball.

Today's “Stating the Obvious” award.

The comments are almost entirely anti-Obama - that he’s politicizing this for his own benefit, that he’s distracting attention from the healthcare mess, that he’s campaigning for himself, etc. Quite a laugh for the alphabet network.

I hope Jake Tapper has someone else start his car every morning. This is the third or fourth time he's questioned the Exalted One.

so to speak publically at all without looking butt stupid, he has to stick to emotional issues.

This is a very emotional issue, but in the 2 short speeches I have seen, Obama seems anything but emotional. He sounds robotic, with very awkward pausing and phrasing, swiveling his head right and left as he reads from something on a podium. He never says anything that sounds like it comes from his heart. More of us should actually listen to his speeches (unpleasant as that may be) before commenting on them.

Even worse is what I heard Michelle say today, that "my husband and his administration" and then something about sending help to Haiti. No, Michelle, it is the American people, the American taxpayers and the American military who are sending help, as they always do.

It’s not set in stone because George Soros made a phone call and said, “Don’t you dare relocate my slave labor!”

Bill Clinton Cheers Turnout By Hundreds Of International Investors At Haiti Conference

From the article:
“Representatives from George Soros’ Open Society Institute told The Associated Press about a planned partnership with Haitian shipper Gregory Mevs and help from the IADB to build a $50 million free-trade zone of clothing factories near the Cite Soleil slum.”

Guess they forgot what Bubba did to them when he got elected

I read somewhere that the Clinton administration gave over 3 billion dollars to Haiti in aid.

Wow!

They remember what happened to Bush after Katrina and they want to make sure they don’t get painted with the same brush. It’s all about Politics all the time.

Because it’s more screwed up than us, and there’s nothing like a disaster to draw attention from the man behind the curtain.
