If that's the case, then "Dreams From My Father" would be exposed as fabrication, like Alex Haley's "Roots." At least Haley wasn't running for public office.

I think that a very real possibility is that they were married (i.e., father was a bigamist) but at the time of birth they were not together. IIRC, she headed off to the mainland soon after Barry was born (whilst Mr. Obama continued his studies in Hawaii), and the three never did live together.
