Haaretz ^ | January 17, 2010 | By Jack Khoury

An American source says that Syria allowed Hezbollah operatives to train within its territory in the use of advanced SA2 anti-aircraft missile batteries, the Kuwaiti daily Al Rai reported Sunday.

In an interview, the senior U.S. official warned that if Syria supplies Hezbollah with this type of missile, Israel will bomb Damascus and a war will likely ensue.

According to the official, Israel has warned Syria not to allow the transfer of the SA2 missiles into the hands of Hezbollah, and views the transfer of such missiles as the crossing of a red line.

KI think that Bibi is the leader of the Free Western World after seeing his UN speech. Obama vacated that seat with his UN ( I apologize for and hate America speech at the UN)speech.

Bibi should rattle the pillars of heaven. G_D expects him to.

Report: Hizbullah Deployed Syrian-Made Missiles Capable of Destroying Israel

http://wap.naharnet.com/servewap.asp?storyid=057481A277A7B06FC22576AB00215DC5

Hizbullah has reportedly recently deployed advanced Syrian-made surface-to-surface missiles on Lebanese territory that are capable of hitting almost any target in Israel. The report carried by the British defense weekly magazine "Jane's" said the projectiles are a clone of Iran's Fateh-110 missile which has a range of 250 kilometers and carries a 500-kg warhead capable of causing significant damage and distinguishing the levels of precision of the objectives.

Jane's military correspondent Alon Ben-David quoted Israeli military sources as confirming that the type M-600 missiles were deployed in Lebanon for the first time. "Syria puts no limits on arms supplies to Hizbullah, and therefore, we must understand that any kind of combat weapons in the possession of the Syrian army will ultimately reach Hizbullah," Ben-David quoted an Israeli military source as saying.

That’s depressing. Syria is a secular country and has one of the most enfranchised Christian communities in the Middle East. It would be a shame for anything to happen that could stir Islamic radicalism there.

What happened to the UN peacekeepers? They have been recording the movement of missiles for quite a while into Lebanon.

Even though they don't work at night, I'm sure they're watching everything.

Top Syrian presidential aide Brigadier-General Mohammed Suleiman, assassinated in August 2008, reportedly supplied Hezbollah with the advanced SA-8 anti-aircraft missile system, according to The Times of London.

The Russian-made SA-8 surface-to-air missile system is a highly mobile, short-range tactical system, the first mobile air defense missile system to incorporate its own engagement radars on a single vehicle.

Countdown to fulfillment of Isaiah 17? Isaiah 17:1 : An Oracle Against Damascus:

"See, Damascus will no longer be a city but will become a heap of ruins.

The infiltration with missiles of various sizes has been going on unimpeded for quite a while. The arsenal in its overall size now must be very impressive. The UN has once again proved itself feckless.

A friend reminded me today:

Isaiah 17:1 - Woe to Damascus. It has been taken away from being a city, it has become a ruinous heap.

Damascus is a 2000 year-old city and is still standing .. for now!

Sorry, but this is news? Hezbollah has always been known as a Syrian proxy force. They don’t even hide that either; if you look at Hezbollah rallies in Beirut, they ALWAYS have Syrian flags with them. Not Palestinian flags or Arab League flags, Syrian flags.

I have thought for many "moons" that we're in a race to the fulfillment of either Isaiah 17 or Ezekiel 38:14-17

To which I can only add: RAPTURE READY?

LOL. Funny that entirely different source (Times of London) calls another antiquated (early ‘70s tech) SAM system “advanced.” In their defense, however, the Ruskies are still fielding the system. SA-22s would be more significant. Still, given the nature of hezbollah, I’d think the Syrians/Iranians would be giving them old SA-14/18s.

I am beginning to think this current IDF exercise may be just posturing . . . at least for now. Netanyahu just arrived in Berlin for talks with Merkel (http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1263147918666&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull)

I don’t see the IDF starting ops against Hezbollah or anyone else with Bibi out of town
