Turnout could hit as high as 70 percent Tuesday in the high-stakes U.S. Senate battle between Democratic Attorney General Martha Coakley and GOP state Sen. Scott Brown, according to some local election officials.
Absentee ballot requests have increased - on par with levels ordinarily seen in a presidential election - some town clerks say. And town and city halls were buzzing last week with people voting and asking questions about registration in advance of the election to fill the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedys seat, said Theodora Eaton, president of the states city and town clerks association.
I wasnt anticipating the interest that has developed, said Needham town clerk Eaton, who processed 1,000 absentee ballots and expects up to 70 percent turnout.

Hi Turnout for placed like Needham is good. Romney won that area. More people more votes..to offset inner city etc...
I choose Good! People want to be part of change

Thank you.
Have to believe it’s a good thing.
The enthusiasm in on Brown’s side. Not Coakley’s.
Something’s driving new/disinterested voters to the polls and I can’t imagine it’s Martha’s sparkling personality and well-oiled campaign.
This is actually good. The people are prepared and knowledgable. And ready. Neither rain, nor sleet, nor dark of night will keep them from their polling places.
I’m voting right after work, but I bet the polling places will be very busy all day.
Remember “non affiliated” are the highest registration. Therefore hi turnout is needed of “non affiliated” to offset the substantial democrat registration of republicans. So more show up the better.
I know her. I ran for school committee there years ago. They hated me. It was fun. It's a rising moonbat community.
High turnout is good - of course in the right places. Angry voters are the most motivated. This begins with seniors, who are livid over Obamacare.
Beware the absentee ballot count.
Mary Jo Kopechne endorses Scott Brown for the US Senate!
Hi,
You are wrong. Extra high turnout of independents needed to offset the 2 1/2 to 1 ration of Dems to Republic which is likely. As long as inner city and college turnout is not overly exceptional. Dems will turnout in descent numbers and even if every single republican turned out and voted Republican would still need a large share of Independents to offset.
ACORN and SEIU are manufacturing votes. Unless we get a significant win like in NJ we'll get the Al Frankin type of fraud. Brown needs at least a 5% win to overcome the manufactured and dead voters not to mention Mickey Mouse & Daffy Duck voting multiple times.

“The enthusiasm in on Browns side. Not Coakleys.”
I want Brown to win, I have “HOPE!” that Brown can win, but the Crazies are pulling out all the stops, from dumping MILLIONS in ad buys from SEIU, ACORN and MoveOn.Borg, to astro-turfing, to robo-calling, to busing in the New Black Panther thugs from Philly.
A win here would be devestating for the Dems, and a game-ender for Obama, but my gut tells me it just isn’t going to happen.
Good if in the suburbs. Inner city, especially I hate to say it, minority districts is troubling. ( yes I know...That’s racist)LOL
It could be a sign of pent up demand for change OR it could be party shenanigans, depending on how absentee ballots are handled in Massachusetts.
...**my gut tells me it just isnt going to happen***
Your gut is telling you it “WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO HAPPEN” and, sadly, your gut may be correct.
BUT, I expect ultra hyperbolic turnout in precincts going for Jokeley... like 120% or 150%. Big turnout in the former is required to offset the >100% turnout in the latter.
“ACORN and SEIU are manufacturing votes.”
Watch the numbers of “New Resident” voters registered in the last week, since Mass is a last-minute Registration state.
An “Influx” of “New” voters, in a city with an already high unemplyment rate would be a SURE sign of voter fraud.
