Bush: Mother Calls Clinton “My Fourth Brother”
CBS News ^ | January 17, 2010 | Michelle Levi

Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton have joined President Obama to spearhead American relief to victims of Haiti’s devasting earthquake. During a Saturday interview for "Face the Nation" at the White House, the two politically opposite former President’s admitted how close a relationship they actually have.

Moderator Bob Schieffer asked both men if they consider one another good friends. “Yeah I do,” Bush replied. “Me too,” Clinton echoed.

“My mother…calls him my fourth brother,” Bush admitted. “The black sheep of the family,” Clinton joked.

President Bush admitted that on occasion he would call his predecessor while in the White House.

“I was always pleased when he called me,” Clinton said. “I’d try to make it a practice never to bother the president. I don’t call President Obama either, I don’t think it’s you know, they’ve got plenty to do. But I, we have developed a very honest, good friendship,” Clinton explained.

“We’ve made our disagreements respectful and we’ve had a good time doing it,” he added.

“They guy doesn’t speak for a year and then he comes out with that?”

It explains a lot.

Thank goodness the bush/clinton era is over.

The New World Order family.

Barack is probably the half brother...

If Jimmah survives, he and zero can commiserate with one another.

I wonder how zero will fare in the Past Presidents Association?

That depends on how he is removed from office.

My son has been in AA for 30 years and from what I have learned from him about the 12 step program, no way GB would do it, in the first place his mother would not be allowed to tell they how to run the program.

At least we had better hope it’s over-a Bush is a Bush is a Bush and Jeb would be no better. The Bushes call themselves Texans, but their headwaters are in New England RINO moderate elitism. And, they are itinerant political whores.

I'm not in AA, but I stopped drinking over five years ago, and I know a lot of people in the Program. Some of them are big-time NYC executives. Others are famous actors and professional atheletes. I believe that it might be possible to attend meetings in the White House, but they would need to be closed meetings in the White House, with carefully picked attendees. Even then, it would still inevitibly get out. Even if it did get out, and Bush was directly questioned about it, the 11th Tradition would prevent him from giving a straight answer.

Liberals seem to be the ones who assert that it would have been imposible for Bush to quit using only prayer and family. I often heard the same warning from people in AA. I can testify that it is certainly possible, because I did it. So did he, I believe.

The jurisdiction I worked in 'protected' Freeway Ricky Ross suppliers.

If you were 'in the club' so to speak, life was good. We had sergeants purchasing homes a few blocks away from Alan Alda's weekend retreat......

Now tell me how a sergeant in 1986 comes up with the bread for a $1.3 million dollar home? When jumbo interest rates were between 9 to 10 percent?

In all honesty, being president can be a very lonely job. I liken this to the AI contestants who forge friendships. They understand what the other has gone through. This doesn’t mean they agree on all things politically, because they don’t. Its a very small club with only 5 living at the present. None of us know what its like to be in that pressure cooker. And, who’s to say we can’t learn from each other’s mistakes or successes?

Geesh, people, lighten up. Clinton did some good things for this country as well as not so good, but, his presidency was never catergorized as a failure like Jimmah Carter. I’ll bet none of them call him for advice!

“My mother…calls him my fourth brother,” Bush admitted. - With a mother like that no wonder he spent thanksgiving in Iraq!
