I am sorry you need to ask yourself why are they doing this?

They are "doing this" because that's how it works in our system - Congress passes laws, the Supreme Court adjudicates their Constitutionality. The law was unconstitutional, someone with standing sued, and the Court threw it (mostly) out.

This bill was set up so the likes of Soros and one worlders could control our elections now through their arm twisting and side dealing they will unleash the global corporations against the people just as they have in the healthcare debate (big pharma).

Look how well that worked for them in Massachusetts.

I believe in the American people; they realized that they screwed up in 2008, and are applying the remedy now. Throwing out a garbage law that restricts free speech will only help.

There were at least 2 other decisions a couple of years ago that negated parts of Mc-F.

IIRC, one was a lower court and the other was the SC.

Regardless, McCain-Feingold has taken a beating. [Imagine if this guy was President. He has legislation that assaults both the First and Second Amendments.]

The four fools dissent.

Thank you Justice Kennedy for standing up for America against the four socialists who would enslave us.

Investors have already been herded directly to foreign interests without the biggest US importers in the middle, so the old campaign finance laws weren’t working to stem the influences of special lobbies. There will probably be a new one in the near future to restrict some of the richest contributors of the social and economic left.

Sotomayor the wise Latina. Hopefully Stevens will stick around until 2012+. Ditto Ginsburg.

Juan McCain - helped the Democrats SO much with this BS bill.

Not sure of the details but new governor Christie in NJ has signed a directive that unions may not use dues for political purposes.

Judges pretend an aloof neutrality, but they test the winds as much as any elected politician.

Stevens, Ginsburg, Sotomayor, and Breyer dissent.

Thanks. I don't have to read any further to figure out if I like the ruling. If these four putzheads are against it, I'm all for it.

My concern is that this opinion was written by dumbbell Kennedy. He has a tendency to refute himself in his own opinions.

"Dont fall for the trap now it is advantages for the left they have their hands in all coprorate operations."

You're right, in that some of the richest investors lean to the left and make sure that only their choices in candidates are presented to voters. They actually smother "free speech" by drowning it out with waves of sponsored propaganda and keeping men, like Duncan Hunter, for example, out of widely televised debates. But the existing campaign finance reform laws were ineffective. See what Bill Gross has to say about the issue in regards to the First Amendment. You might be surprised. Other influential advisors have also been herding investors to go around the middlemen, until the problem is corrected.

Let’s Get Fisical
http://www.pimco.com/LeftNav/Featured+Market+Commentary/IO/2010/Let%E2%80%99s+Get+Fisical+January+2010.htm

It's time for campaign finance reform that doesn't excuse special folks. Until then, avoid any unnecessary personal expenditures and become more self-sufficient. Develop a hobby at making something useful. The economy is going to get a lot rougher, while tyrants--global and local--are shaken out of their trees.

Aside from supporting any decision that upholds US Constitution Free Speech rights, this is a great benefit to conservatives.

There was political balance when corporations had a political voice just as unions did. McCain Feingold stopped the corporations and allowed the unions to sponsor their leftist candidates. Now parity has been restored.

You just dont get it I dont blame you.

Most people on this site dont know what their up against look where we are as a nation. For 70 years the statist has gradually crushed our way of life while most lawful hard working Americans were unaware.
The left is still going to push HC the EPA will pass Cap and Tax and after they pass this so called financial overhaul the government will have control of 70% of our economy.

To not question the headlines of the day is to put your head in the sand. The election in Mass was a great victory for us but to expect this movement to slow in the face of the growing opposition to this administrations reaction is to reject reality.

There are no instant fixes to this it will take us 15-20 if we start today to educate a new generation of Americans that embrace the traditions and values of our founding. Dont think Duncan’s plan for the school system involves any of those things. If I remember he was so very impressed with China’s uniform discipline system of a national curriculum.

It will take us 70 years to slowly chip away and return this nation back to its founding. Many Americans want to look to one event, headline or story line and say this is it I can go back to my life and be left alone.

Sorry I am not buying this without examining the reason for this. The days of reading headlines or hearing sound bites from this media and walking away with a warm fuzzy feeling is over for me.

There aren’t any instant fixes but there can be NO fixes by castrating the First Amendment, and that’s what McCain-Feingold did. This is a victory for the Constitution PERIOD, thinking it’s anything else is just being silly.

Just one of the many, many repercussions that could well bite us in the butt, because nobody had the balls to fight this fight BEFORE the election. Sure, some went to battle, but just ONE state could have derailed the entire mess.

I fear the whole eligibility thing will come to be the “too big to fail” of politics. So much would be turned upside down by officially recognizing and professing Obama’s lack of eligibility that extreme measures will be taken to avoid the showdown.

Although, it could come to pass that he will be seen as such a real and present danger to very existence of our country that we will thank God, literally, for the easy out of proving he was never eligible.

That is of course if the financial problems or the terrorists or our dependence on foreign oil or our refusal to protect our borders or our public educational system or any one of a dozen other problems don't get us first.
