The Supreme Court has ruled that corporations may spend freely to support or oppose candidates for president and Congress, easing decades-old limits on their participation in federal campaigns....

Well, that's good news for the NY Times, isn't it?

Government handouts with the expected corporate kickbacks are nothing new.

Look at the billion dollars from the tobacco settlement paid to Texas’ top lawyers who also are the state’s top donors to Democrats.

If I want to sell everything I have and give it to a political candidate, I should have the right to do this. There should be no restrictions, period. If the union members do not want their dues going to this purpose, it is between the membership and the leadership of the union. I would really love to see the rank and file stand up to the union management over this issue....

This points up again what a dismal failure McCain was and is as a "representative" of Republican principles........and what an incredibly STUPID political move that Sarah Palin has made in hitching her star to his re-election campaign.

They don’t realize that at some point we become immune. It doesn’t matter what they say. We make up our own minds, as you AWESOME people of Massachusetts have proven. So what was it like living through the las week? I’m almost afraid to ask.

Just wondering, if corporations can spend freely, are individual’s limits still in place?

Well anything that would reduce the influence of lobbyist is what I’m after. Perhaps someday the Tea Party effort will arise within the unions to reform them or decertify some in favor of others.

McCain and the American people got rope-a-doped by Obama and the Dims on that campaign $$$ issue.

And of course State Media was nearly silent about it...One could argue that's what won the election for Obama.

With all the corrupt campaign finance schemes you almost have your wish of no restrictions.

If so, that’s stupidly easy to circumvent.

It’d take all of about a week to set up a corp.

No. “News” (state authorized propaganda outlets) were exempted. Just the rest of us, who were actually right on the issues, were gagged.

Most large corporations are buying either protection or favors—most are quite happy with Obama growing fascism as long as they get some free taxpayer-funded cheese or can have gubermint rules punish their competition.

SmokingJoe, you are exactly right, and that’s just one of the myriad ways of self-dealing this Administration is perfecting. It can’t be said enough, exposed or highlighted enough: EVERYTHING they do involves bribing, and paying off their present AND future supporters with OUR money, and our CHILDREN’S MONEY. It’s an endless loop, and it’s going on right under our noses. It’s all about setting up “organizations”, and bureaucratic structures within them, that branch out into an endlessly proliferating subgroups that lay back and only too happily accept the largesse which the Government has told us they need and deserve. At this point, this is all being done so brazenly as to defy belief. Against all odds, they continue to get away with it.........the tipping point is coming, though...

Yes. You are correct.

The McCain Feingold restrictions impacted corps much more than unions. It destroyed the parity in the system.

SCOTUS already ruled that union members can withhold that political fraction, but members rarely do because of the intimidation factor.

I have read estimates that 50% or more of union members vote ‘R.’ But unions give near 100% to Dems.

In Scott Bown’s election some SEIU members campaigned for him in their SEIU shirts. That’s what is needed - union member protests of where their money is being spent or withholding it.

If I understood FOX correctly this all came about because of a negative film about Hillary....Now that it can be shown, it has no value.

OTOH who do we know that can finance a film questioning Obama? It now becomes legal....
OBAMA, WHO IS HE?

With pictures and background and lots of unanswered questions?
