Oil's the Next Easy Target for Obama
The Street ^ | January 22, 2010 | Jim Cramer

Posted on 01/22/2010 9:01:01 AM PST by Presbyterian Reporter

Oil's next. Let's face it. A president who cannot get things done, who faces the rejection of the people, must attack entities that are perceived to be hated. He has to. It is right out of the playbook. You can see it happening.

You know I like natural gas and believe it is the natural bridge fuel. You know, though, if you watched my interviews with Richard Kinder from the great Kinder Morgan Partners or the night before with Boone Pickens, I am skeptical that natural gas will catch a break in this country.

I now think that Obama could turn on natural gas drilling with a vengeance even if it creates jobs, makes us more energy-independent and is cleaner than coal. Why not? I am sure that he can join those who are saying that it pollutes drinking water, because we know from polls that...

Like many others Jim Cramer is saying that energy companies are next on Obama's hit list.

Obama cannot stand to see America be profitable. Profits are anti-thetical to his Marxist ideology.

Obama entertained his leftist base in 2009 by demonizing health insurance companies, doctors and hospitals.

In 2010 it appears Obama is going to entertain his Marxist base by going after the banking and energy industries.

All of these actions by Obama make the USA less prosperous.

Besides being a narcissist, Obama is anti-American.

Since he was a boy and say at the feet of communist F.M.Davis Barry has hated Free Enterprise.

I hope he`s so committed to his ideology his conscience won`t allow him to sell it out and he continues to destroy the USA.

That will get the SOB Impeached(fingers crossed).

But increasing the price of oil hurts rather than helps his Islamist buddies.

He will need those friends to escape to for exile when the gig is found to be up as he is exposed as a non-American.

O isn’t going to do even one thing to reduce our oil imports.

An attack on private oil companies has the advantage that he gets to throw his constituents a bone, he might be able to shake down the private oil companies for some back door money, but nothing he will do will reduce OPEC’s income by even a dime.

Remember, private oil owns about 5% of the oil in the world. Mostly, private oil works as contractors for the “really big” government oil companies in the world. Even in the US, most of the “new” oil is government oil.

“Big” private oil is going to come under attack but “really big” government oil is safe.

He will do it by adding a “Windfall Profits” Tax, and the masses will cheer.

I agree Obama is going after the banks first. He said that yesterday.

Obama’s attack on the banks ought to be good for about six months before the Democrat Congress realizes none of them are going to get elected in November if Obama keeps demonizing the banks.

Look for Obama to attack the energy industry after the November election. (Unless impeachment proceedings are about to begin with the newly elected congress)

Impeachment is the best course. A good investigation in the new House should do it.

I think this is the issue that Palin and/or Republicans need to hammer Obummer on. There are JOBS in developing energy resources like Natural Gas, CLEAN coal, and oil. If make the Nat.Gas/Coal/Oil argument through the prism of jobs creation, I think the people will respond positively.

Obama is going through the list. He is like a pit bull dog taking chuncks out of the American free enterprise system. He is a calculating one. He knows that every action he takes creates shock waves through the economy. Each event causes big chunks of wealth to drop out of the system. This is wealth that we need for jobs, and paying the cost of government spending.

Why are we not posting this as a pit bull bites economy story? We have these pit bull posts continuously going every day. It is time to see Zer0 as the ultimate pit bull.

With the likely exception of Jimmy Carter, prior Presidents have measured their success by how the stock market performed during their reign.

Obama seems to care less if the stock market tanks. Yesterday’s 200 point drop was attributed to Obama’s attack on the banks.

It seems Obama is trying to hurt the stock market.

There are numerous arguments that would work well with most voters, if the Republicans just had a little spine.

1. As you say, more jobs.

2. Cutting back the high bills for home heating and electric power.

3. Energy independence. Keeping our money in this country to invest and spend, instead of sending it to producers who, except for Canada, are mostly our enemies.

And none of this harms the environment. Why does it harm the earth more to drill for oil here than it does to give Brazil money to drill for oil there? What is the advantage in spending billions fighting in Iraq when Iraqi oil goes to Russia, China, and France, all of whom opposed our mission there? Does anyone believe that China does a cleaner job mining coal or drilling oil than we do? Is it better to have China drilling for oil in the Gulf of Mexico than it is for us to drill there?

But we know what Obama will do. Bankrupt the coal companies, shut down natural gas exploration, block the Alaska-Canadian gas pipeline that Sarah got moving, and demonize “Big Oil.” Never mind that compared to the huge national oil companies, Exxon-Mobil is now a midget.

If things keep moving this way, America will be out of the international oil business entirely, and wouldn’t Obama love that?
