Obama: Is His Presidency Close To Crisis? As Obama declares hostilities on the bankers after the collapse of his health care reforms, is his presidency close to crisis?
By Toby Harnden 22 Jan 2010
There was an ironic symmetry to the way in which Barack Obamas presidency was dealt such a blow last week. Suddenly, it was reduced to something so insubstantial that it mocked the grand ambitions of his campaign. It was Senator Edward Kennedy's decision to support the then Senator for Illinois that turned the tide in Obama's epic Democratic primary battle with Hillary Clinton.
When the liberal lion of Massachusetts declared Obama to be the heir to Camelot, he became the kingmaker. And it was the poignant death of the last of the Kennedy brothers that destroyed Obamas ambitious plan to become the first president in a generation to achieve health care reform, which the kingmaker had described as his lifes work.
The Kennedy seat in Massachusetts, long regarded as the most liberal state in the Union, should have been the safest in the 100-member Senate. That it fell to the Republicans on the eve of the anniversary of that heady inauguration day last January added a twist of cruelty for Obama. So too did the fact that Scott Brown, the Republicans improbable conquering hero, was a mere state senator like Obama who had campaigned on the themes of change, shaking up politics and standing up for the little people against Washington.
In what seemed dangerously close to an unravelling, the new President, who two months before his election had responded calmly and deliberately to the erupting economic crisis as his rival flailed, dealt with the setback by resorting to a tirade against the banks.

‘Tirade’, that’s exactly what we get every time Zero’s exposed for the fraud he is.
Very much like the infant in the crib, those jerky lashing out gestures. Classic infantilism.
Man-child is lashing out at how unfair life is.
Look at this from DU!

23. YOu need the radical left
It takes a Marxist to take on the Radical Right. Centtrists, liberals and moderate conservatives are not cut out for this. You need the right tools for the job and a Marxist is it. At least he understands what these people are doing and knows how to fight it effectivly.

Obozo SOP -—> blame everyone else!
The prose is so beautiful, I am nigh to weeping...
Most interesting read!
I was wondering if the Obama crisis was ever going to become close to a Presidency...and there is no chance...
Hitler Wannabe.
Trashing and blaming everyone except other socialists is what he does.
Scary. Savage says he a Marxist as well. We desperately need control of Congress, make him a lame duck and then give this guy the boot in 2012.
The “followers” at DU openly call him a marxist now & admit that is what they want!!! Yes, SCARY!
Obama being POTUS should have never happened.
“It takes a Marxist to take on the Radical Right.”
If I was brave enough (and had a hazmat suit) to go on DU I would have liked to ask that person-What is the radical right and just what is their agenda other than trying to keep “progressives” from destroying the country?
Malignant Narcissists DO NOT LIKE TO BE CROSSED.
They can be VERY DANGEROUS WHEN IN THIS AGITATED STATE.
Just a warning.
There seems to be a whole lot of trashen going on in that there administration. Hahahahahahahaha.
There was one thing very wrong in this article - Teddy was not a lion; he was an alley cat.
