Well my opinion is based upon ‘intent’.
She was going to find out RIGHT AWAY, if the little girl was being sexually abused.
And to not embarrass the child, she didn’t do it on her desk and in the middle of the principal’s office...she took her where she wouldn’t feel any shame.
Of course she should be reprimanded...or even fired.
But, IMO she’s the same as the 7-11 manager who runs down and shoost the robber, saving the money for the company...only to get fired.
Intent.
...and I have a daughter.
One word of advice to parents. Teach your children how to survive in a school restroom. Teach them some basic self defense moves so they can get the heck out of there if attacked.
Schools should not even have nurses. It is not thwe schools place to provide healthcare. The only exception to this in Tennessee is or rather was schools that were once set up to deal with kids that had medical needs.
One other point. The child had a known UTI history. The nurse would have been the one giving the antibiotics at school and the principal seeing the doctors excuses. IOW the childs doctor would know or suspect something wrong long before them right? Anybody knows UTI's are painful especially a nurse. Sometimes it takes several doctors visits to locate the source of the UTI as it can require scoping the childs bladder which is usually a last resort for obvious reasons. Meaning that something as simple as a small bladder or a bladder not emptying out completely can cause chronic UTI's. Nurses know this. I didn't even mentuion bladder stones.
Now let me show you how quick this could have ended up being real bad for the parents and the kid as well. If the kid had a bladder stone and passed one earlier that day there would likely be blood. The kid would be in pain as well. With a UTI history you look for that as a possibility and not for molestation. But the nurse asking that question was looking for molestation. Blood under such conditions would be assumed as abuse.
Drop a dime and off goes the child to foster care while the parents have no idea as to what actually happened. IOW the parents could have been answering a lot of needless questions based on the nurses impulses and a kid subjected to some some mental evals that were not needed plus a considerable time in foster care till it got sorted out.
This was gross overkill and unnecessary. It would be the same as a 7-11 clerking shooting someone because they SUSPECTED they were going to be robbed. OOPs he was unarmed and his wife sent him in for a candy bar oh well.
