Obama Hits New Low in Gallup Poll (47%)
Weekly Standard ^ | January 23, 2010 | John McCormack

Posted on 01/23/2010 11:55:42 AM PST by reaganaut1

Obama's approval rating according to Gallup's tracking poll has hit a new low of 47%.

Rasmussen's model, which was vindicated yet again, along with Public Policy Polling, in Massachusetts last week, shows 55% of voters disapprove of Obama's job performance and 44% approve (43% strongly disapprove and 24% strongly approve).

i wonder if the poll is RAT heavy like it is when they want to say how much America agrees with their agenda...

The media is starting to turn on him and, with it, some of the far left. I suspect that Obama’s approval numbers will dip the more that liberals become disenchanted with him.

They were soooo close to socialist utopia and then Scott Brown came out of nowhere to claim Teddy’s seat. Gotta love the irony in that.

Obozo’s base is abandoning him in droves because he's ineffectual to their socialist goals.

The Independents are leaving him even faster, as he has proven he is an incompetent liar.

Obozo may try to appear to “pivot” to be more moderate like Clinton was after the '94 GOP take-over. He may even fire a few people in his staff, including Rahm dead-fish Emanuel to appear that he's ridding the White House of the brain trust that got Obozo into his mess.

In the end, Obozo will learn a hard life lesson that he never had to face in Illinois or learn from the father-figures in his pitiful life:

Trust, once lost, is next to impossible to get back.

“There are many subtle things about his words, facial countenance, and personality lately that seem to conclude that he is becoming unhinged.”

Subtle?

How does this compare to other presidents at this point in their first terms?

This coming SOTU was supposed to be a celebration at passing Obamacare. Whoops.

You’re right about him sounding angry lately, since there are many on the left who think that his problem was that he wasn’t acting liberal enough!

I can’t make this stuff up if I tried. Can it be November already please?

Obozo wishes he had a time machine. He would go back to an era when he could tell all the lies he wanted and he was not held responsible for the things he didn't deliver to his supporters.

THEY are quite upset with Obama's lack of Progress.
The rest of us are quite thankful for Obama's failure.

I’d pay good money to see him dissed at the SOTU speech. I can only wish it is a flop that fails to inspire and elicit thunderous applause at the end of every stupid sentence. And I wish the Repubs would pull some more Joe Wilsons. Nancy Piglosi’s glare may not cower them this time.

I teach college English. When I touch on rhetoric, I emphasize that a person’s authenticity and character (ethos) are the basis of persuasive argument. B.O. may be able to READ well, but he is inauthentic. Technically, as a speaker he does some irritating things, too. His whistling s’s send me looking for a pillow to put over my head. The mere cadence of his voice—the dropped ends of sentences—is a turnoff. I suspect the firehouse fans unconsciously recognize all of this.

The whole “green jobs” thing was a joke. First of all, the technology doesn't work. Second of all, even if it did work, all those “green” solar cells or whatever can be assembled for 1/100th the price in China.

There never was and never will be any chance of any green jobs being created here, as long as unions and free trade exist.

If he fires people on his staff, he'll have more incompetents in the White House than he has now. This is a lose, lose situation. I wouldn't be surprised if his staff just up and leave. Good riddance. Take it back to what it was before, we don't need more fools making a mess of things. Of course, then they can't continue with their progressive agenda. : ))

“He has been sounding nasty and angry lately—the Stalinist teeth coming out.”

All dictators start to become unhinged when their aims are thwarted. Hitler started losing it when Germany was losing steadily, like all other tinpot monsters. Saddam was (odd to talk about this in the past tense) had Baghdad Bob spouting about the victories (haha) of the Iraqi army, and Jim Jones lost it too. They all do when their defeats start rolling.

I only hope that when Zero’s world collapses, he doesn’t take us with it. Jim Jones took his followers with him and so did Hitler and in some respects Saddam.

It can’t go that low. Racist’s with matching skin color plus liberals/communists will give him a bottom in the high 30’s

Now if blacks abandon him because they are tired of being unemployed... then there basically is not bottom, but since they still vote democratic in Detroit, and Washington DC... i’m not betting on that, they just can’t see past skin color. It’s sad really.

I also have a keen interest in rhetoric, spoken and written. I have never gotten the "eloquent" thing. He never says anything I remember: no takeaway lines. Sarah has more good lines in one of her surprisingly elegant, concise facebook essays than O's entire canon. I guess eloquent means "fine baritone combined with certain hypnotic hand gestures."

His cheeks pop out with all the plosive consonants. That should have been trained out of him first thing. And the odd way he finishes words with "ee" vowel. "Possibluh" instead of "possibly." And, of course, that maddening teleprompted head-swing...

Have you read some of Sarah's FB essays? They are ideas conveyed with complete coherence and a studied lack of pretension. Very nice little essays.
