Random thoughts...
Peterson is going to be kicking himself after watching the films. He turned 10 yard runs into 3 yard runs by not seeing the cutback or backside lane. I think he has better field vision than he displayed tonight. Farve ends up his career as a Viking the same was he did as a Packer.

I wrote earlier I thought the Viking D was better against your Cowboys than they were against the Saints.

Only pressured Drew a few times compared what they did to Romo.

Totally different team this week in comparison. Maybe I’m wrong.

Look forward to the ribbing. But I won’t be as tense about it as I was today.

I agree with everything in your post, but IMO the Vikings turnovers are what ultimately cost them a trip to the Super Bowl.

I thought Peterson cut back quite a bit more than he had in recent games. I was convinced, and the statistics proved me right, that we were more than a match for New Orleans on the line of scrimmage. We got excellent push on both sides of the ball but had problems with their late pressure.

Personally, I think Brett will be back. You heard it here first. He’s signed through next season and everything I’ve heard around here is that it’s an excellent fit to have him here.

Probably, though, I’m just thinking I don’t want to see Tarvaris Jackson quarterback this team. We can forget about the playoffs if that happens.

Re-read the first part of your post. Allen has been held by the jersey all season and still had 14 1/2 sacks. He just lives with it.

Freeney is going to have a big day, I feel. And I don’t see the Colts losing.

I was also very disappointed no flag was thrown on the high-low hit that put Favre out of the game. There is no reason to go for a player’s legs when he’s already under grasp at his shoulders.

Hope Farve comes back for one more year. I admire the heck out of his grit and competitive spirit. You just hope he doesn't get a quick case of stupid at a critical time. :) If he and the HC have worked out there differences, this is a team that can learn from an experience like this and be back next year.

Here’s the thing: if it comes down to a discussion between Brett Favre and Brad Childress, I am taking the quarterback — EVERY time.

We don’t have the quarterback to get back unless he comes back. So we shall see.

I think it’s probably a 1 to 3 year thing with Favre, and every off season he will make the determination whether to stay in the NFL or not.

BTW, if you did serve any time in the military (and you’re not the only one who has, “son”) you apparently lost (or never had) any sense of honor or dignity.
It’s a game, no one is staring down the barrel.
As I stated before, there is no excuse for trading a win for your dignity and self-respect.

I guess you were watching a different game than the one I did.

The vikes overcame their own screwups but were doen in at the end by the NFL’s instructions to the refs.

Or the Refaints just “happened” to get the worst officiating crew in he history of the NFL AND got 4 not-even-close calls in a row because it was St. Bibben’s day.
