OFA is source of astroturfed letters
Organizing For America (barackobama.com) ^

Posted on 01/24/2010 3:29:46 PM PST by JimWayne

http://my.barackobama.com/page/speakout has various calls for writing letters on several topics. Many letters on this site appear verbatim in various publications. Examples:

http://my.barackobama.com/page/speakout/YouthLTE?js=false&zip=12345

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22In+most+states%2C+companies+are+permitted+to+charge+a+22-year-old+woman+1.5+times+the+premium+of+a+22-year-old+man.%22&filter=0
The google result gives several links with sentences in them that are identical to the astroturf website of Teleprompter Jesus. e.g.: "In most states, companies are permitted to charge a 22-year-old woman 1.5 times the premium of a 22-year-old man."

Also click on the link to support Sotomayor

http://my.barackobama.com/page/speakout/SotomayorLetter?js=false&zip=12345

http://www.google.com/search?q=%22She’s+also+credited+with+saving+baseball.+In+1995,+Sotomayor+effectively+ended+the+baseball+strike+by+issuing+an+injunction+against+major+league+baseball+owners.%22&filter=0
Here the letters are verbatim as on OFA website.

Un-FREAKING-believable!

Why can’t OUR side ever be THIS pro-active? Oh, that’s right. We’re busy PULLING the wagon, while these deadbeats RIDING in the wagon have all day to ‘compose’ letters to the editors. Grrrrrrrr!

“Why can’t OUR side ever be THIS pro-active? “

Because this is dishonest....and we’re better than that. So far we’ve have three REAL grassroots wins — VA, NJ and now Massachusetts. I never want to lower to their standards. We can fight hard and win cleanly.

I know. It just annoys me to no end that we don’t have the killer instinct those dirtbags have.

I feel like I’m in the midst of a Friday night football game between fierce high school rivals. And all the while, the players and their fans have lost sight of the American people. The Dems are so set on crushing the Republicans, and the Republicans are so busy trying to “be” popular, that the moms and pops and other honest folks are left cleaning up the mess left behind and paying for it all.

To me, that’s what the tea parties are all about. Folks standing up and saying, not anymore. We’re done with you all.

You betcha. I work VERY hard at my local level trying to bring back common sense and MORALS to our government. No easy task!

We’ve managed to get TWO conservative judges seated on our WI Supreme Court in the past three years. It’s been driving the LibTards insane.

BUT...Wisconsin has a l-o-n-g way to go, as do many other ‘purple’ states.

Not a bad thing at all. Matter of fact, my hat’s off to you.

I have Ellie Light fatigue having danced with her since yesterday. There must be 40 threads on this now but 7 of the papers that ran her letter are owned by the Media News Group that controls nearly 100 dailies and weeklies including 33 in Calif. I am too numb to find the thread where a FReeper cross linked several papers and the owners that ran the letters. MY initial thought the common link to the letters getting posted came on orders from the parent company but I now think that it went as high as the DOJ and the community organizer himself...

  • Talking Points
  • Writing Tips

  • No nation will be able to meet the challenges of growing the economy and creating jobs in the 21st century without a serious investment in green technology.
  • For too long, the world—including the United States—has been slow to respond to or even recognize the magnitude of the climate change threat.
  • But this is a new day. In the last eight months, the United States has done more to promote clean energy and reduce carbon pollution than at any other time in our history. The Obama Administration has made the largest-ever investment in renewable energy and invested billions to reduce energy waste. The Administration is also proposing, for the first time in history, a new national standard that will increase fuel economy and reduce greenhouse gas pollution for all new cars and trucks.
  • Most importantly, the House of Representatives passed an energy and climate bill in June. This legislation – the American Clean Energy and Security Act – would finally make clean energy the profitable kind of energy for American businesses and dramatically reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

• Be concise. Most newspapers ask for Letters to the Editor to be less than 300 words.

• Write from the heart. The most powerful letters will tell your personal story about why the topic of your letter is so important to you.
