Earlier tonight we posted the weird going on in the Ellie Light saga: Today went from weird to something out of an episode of the Twilight Zone. This morning the Cleveland Plain Dealer got a call from Ellie Light. Then this afternoon they got a call from a second person claiming to be Ellie Light. Will the the real Ellie Light PLEASE Stand Up ? The real Ellie Light was really #1 the "woman with the deep voice" she contacted the paper again tonight. A man who identified himself as Winston Steward, 51, of Frazier Park, Calif., says he made...

You need closure. “I am Winston Steward and have been sending the letters from Ellie Light,” he told The Plain Dealer in an e-mail late Tuesday, following a phone interview in which he said the same. “I hope this ends any confusion and sets the record straight.”… He repeated that in an e-mail, using the same account as he had when using the name “Ellie Light.” He said, however, that he and Brooks are no longer married, a point Brooks disputed. “He’s making up all kinds of garbage,” she said. “We’re not divorced. We’re not separated. He just doesn’t...

She claims to be a traveling nurse. Audio at the link. UPDATE: Cleveland.com is claiming her true name is Barbara Brooks. And her real name is Barbara Brooks. Or so she told The Plain Dealer today after a series of phone interviews, e-mails and records checks involving Brooks/Light, a family member, licensing records and property information. The 51-year-old woman provided her address on Monday night to The Plain Dealer, and what she says is her real name in conversations today that followed checks of public records.

The investigators of the blogosphere are hot on the trail of the elusive (or omnipresent; take your pick) Ellie Light. And now research has started into finding information about and where some of her friends are, including Mark Spivey, Janet Leigh, Gloria Elle, Jan Chen, Jen Park, Lars Deeman, John F. Scott, Earnest Gardner, and probably many more by the end of the night. Just in from Patterico is the news that Sabrina Eaton, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reporter who broke this story, has received some new correspondence from Ms. Light: In a Sunday morning e-mail to The Plain Dealer,...

Who is Ellie Light, mysterious letter writing Obama supporter; or political hack on the Administration’s payroll who claims to be just a common everyday citizen sticking up for her President? A person using the name Ellie Light has written a letter to several different media publications using different addresses, but the same name. That may not seem so unusual, what is unusual is that the letter was published in all of the publications. Coincidence? In each letter, Ellie Light defends Barack Obama’s position on just about everything and also uses the tired old “we inherited this mess” argument. For instance,...

http://my.barackobama.com/page/speakout has various calls for writing letters on several topics. Many letters on this site appear verbatim in various publications. Examples: http://my.barackobama.com/page/speakout/YouthLTE?js=false&zip=12345 http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22In+most+states%2C+companies+are+permitted+to+charge+a+22-year-old+woman+1.5+times+the+premium+of+a+22-year-old+man.%22&filter=0 The google result gives several links with sentences in them that are identical to the astroturf website of Teleprompter Jesus. e.g.: "In most states, companies are permitted to charge a 22-year-old woman 1.5 times the premium of a 22-year-old man." Now that people are paying attention, the Astroturfers are coming out of the woodwork: Jan Chen of Seattle writes to the Northwest Asian Weekly (a small Asian paper serving the Seattle area): As one listens to the Republican anger over health care reform, one can imagine an anti-government protester cheerfully paying premiums on insurance policies that drop you after you make a claim, or happily sauntering out of an emergency room that denied them treatment because of a coverage problem. One can imagine a town hall sign-waver enthusiastically forking over most of their pay to bill collectors after suffering a...

...Who is Mark Spivey? I know only this: that he is the author of this pro-Obama letter that has appeared in numerous publications: A recent Associated Press article stated that President Barack Obama’s hesitancy on the Afghan war buildup implies weakness. I wish world leaders had more of that kind of weakness. Clearly, Obama does not want to send soldiers into harm’s way without a clear goal, a solid plan and an exit strategy, three aspects sorely missing from former President George W. Bush’s military ventures. I know that we Americans are used to presidents who play cowboy, who say...

Earlier this week we learned about "Ellie Light" More than 40 different Letters to the Editor have turned up in newspapers across the country all, written by someone named Ellie Light, each one defends Barack Obama. Each Ellie Light letter claims to live within the circulation area of each newspaper. The letters are nearly identical in grammar, tone, and gist. The letters also contain the following closing statement: "...and a president can’t just wave a magic wand and fix everything." That may be true, but the President's political adviser David Axlerod can wave a magic wand and send letters to...

An interesting phenomenon has been occuring in various newspaper "Letters to the Editor" pages. A woman with the same name has had letters published in no fewer than 9 newspapers praising Obama while using various city and location residences. Now it's one thing if the person(s) name was something like John Brown, Steve Smith, Amy Jones or any other number of common name combination. However the name being used is Ellie Light. This may seem like much about nothing except for one small thing. The only Ellie Light that FReepers were able to locate by Lexis-Nexis or internet searches were...

Like a detective on a trail, I'm all over this Ellie Light thing (still), the next tidbit I will point you to is the actual meaning of the name and the potential allusion to the Obama campaign symbol and a few other theories like the Cass Sunstein/Samantha Power possibility. As everyone knows by now, the 'transparency' of the Obama administration is an illusion, I think that this story is another (potential) determining factor of just that as well. I also read a report that Ellie Light has been featured in over 60 newspapers as of now. Readers have opined that...
