More about the layer representing the panty bomber...

Now, meet Umar Abdulmutallab’s lawyer, Miriam Siefer, whose salary you are paying.

If the name sounds familiar, that’s because you’ve read about Siefer on this site, before. During the Detroit terror cell case, she represented Karim Koubriti, an Islamic terrorist in a cell, which plotted to blow up the U.S. Air Force Base in Turkey, where U.S. AWACS and Israeli F-16s are based and from where they took off. They also plotted to blow up hotels and casinos in Las Vegas and planned to detonate in Disneyland.

During the course of her “representation” of terrorist Koubriti, Siefer and her fellow public defender, Richard Helfrick a/k/a Rick Helfrick (who will probably also assist her in representing Abdulmutallab), stole the stationery of the then-Chief Judge of the Federal Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, Lawrence Zatkoff, forged Zatkoff’s name, and sent it to another attorney in the case, accusing him of faking invoices (which wasn’t true). That makes at least several federal crimes that I can think of–theft, forgery, impersonating a federal official, mail fraud, etc. but they got away with it.

In an interview, Judge Gerald Rosen, who presided over the Detroit terror cell case, admitted to me that Siefer and Helfrick forged the documents.

"Another thread says he was only interrogated for 50 minutes ... "

So does this article"

The FBI interview with the suspected bomber lasted about 50 minutes.

The other law enforcement officers he spoke to were Customs and Border Protection officers who took Abdulmutallab from the airplane to the hospital, and summoned the FBI.

The articles describing this suggest Abdulmutallab was talkative, but do not indicate the CBP officers in any way questioned him.

The Washington Post (yes, the Washington Post) slams Obama over the handling of Abdulmutallab here:

Did the Obama administration blow an opportunity in the Flight 253 case?

This response has Obama and Holder written all over it. Go back and listen to Holder's testimony to the Senate over trying KSM in criminal court in New York. The same Holde smugness and arrogance are in play in the response to Abdulmutallab. I have no doubt the response to Abdulmutallab's attempted attack was directly recommended and approved by Holder and Obama. Certainly, in the four hours between Flight 253 notifying the FAA they had a suspected bomber on board until the FBI arrived at the University of Michigan Medical Center to question Abdulmutallab, Holder was in the loop, and likely Obama was notified. That there was not any phone calls or discussions between Holder and Obama on the issue, when Obama schedule was otherwise clear, is absurd on the surface.

Obama and Holder think we gain favor with the jihadists by being deferential towards them.

First they claimed he spoke for 30 straight hours and received valuable info.

Second, it is a violation of his “constitutional rights” to question him prior to reading him his rights.

I noticed how clumsily Gibbs defended that claim during his appearance on Fox News Sunday. He also skirted around answering the question about whether the Mirandiziation of Abdulmutallab was authorized by the president (lower case “p” on purpose).

The administration's contention that Abdulmutallab talked at length before he was "Mirandized" is a weak argument, whether he spoke for a minute, and hour, or a week. The question should not be how much information we got from him before he lawyered up. Clearly, we would have gotten that information anyway, by treating him as an enemy combatant. The issue is how much we didn't get after he was read his "rights."

Andrew McCarthy discusses this point at length in his recent National Review article, "Enemies, Not Defendants," Jan 25th Issue:

When I was a federal prosecutor, we had access to high-ranking Mafiosi--turncoats who continued providing valuable intelligence on the New York crime families for several years after they've been flipped. It's not just a matter of exhausting sources' current operational intelligence.(emphasis mine) They are insiders, and they know more than our agents and prosecutors do about how these illicit enterprises work. Even when their information about plots is no longer current, they can help you make sense of new information, cutting through complications that you could never untangle on your own.

and likely Obama was notified.

This is reminiscent of the Nixon Watergate saga: If Nixon knew, he's a criminal. If he didn't, he's incompetent.

If Obama knew, and allowed this to happen, his administration is woefully unprepeared to fight the war on terror. If Obama didn't know, he's incompetent for having people in his administration who didn't tell him.

I recommend that we dispatch Seal Team 6 immediately, in black uniforms, on horseback.

In fact there was another Nigerian on that plane who caught the attention of the FBI on that same flight. He was on the watch list for having previously carried a shotgun in his checked baggage. Long story shown on CNN last week.

This entire episode makes no sense at all.

There were no military tribunals for terrorist when the shoe bomber was captured.

The msm allows the administration and it’s cohorts to lie lie lie without a single word.

Wonder how they would feel if one of their loved ones was on a blown up plane. God forbid.

How Abdulmutallab was questioned:

- Would you like some coffee or tea?
- Is that chair comfy enough for you?
- why don’t you love Obama like the rest of us?
- You don’t have to talk to us. Would you like a lawyer?
- You must be tired. Would you like a foot rub?

This whole charade is reminiscent of what went down shortly after 9/11. No one will be held responsible, nor will the actual facts come out in full. All we know is the changes that where put in place during GWB terms to better coordinate how all elements of the Intel, Military, and FBI interface are now back to day one. Say during the days of Gorlach’s wall.

We don’t even know how to HANDLE a terrorist. Is he a criminal? Should he be under military custody? Should we read him his rights?

And let's be transparent in front of all the world about what should be covert, and secretive toward the people of this nation about what should be open. That's the meme of this miserable administration.

We finally learned it was Holder.

Yep, and it's highly likely he did so in consultation with 0-muslim.
