The Democrat's Circular Firing Squad Set To Go Into Hyper-Mode After News Of Obama's Spending Freeze

Did Obama just seal the Democratic party's fate in November by leaking word of a coming 3-year discretionary spending freeze?
Let's quickly point out why this already sounds like a political blunder:
It won't do jack to control the budget. It only affects 17% of the budget, and that 17% isn't the part that's growing like crazy. It won't do anything to make conservatives like him. It will piss off liberals -- royally. And indeed that last one is already happening.
The Atlantic's Marc Ambinder reports that labor and other liberal special interest groups are venting fury at The White House this evening.
Liberal blog Samefacts.com announces that Obama's "self-inflicted lobotomy" proceeds apace.
Red-hot netroots site FireDogLake -- whose influence on the left really deserves its own story at some point -- is predictably appalled.
Still no word from Paul Krugman, but we won't be surprised if he chimes in with a paragraph or two somtime tonight.

This asshole has no idea as to what to do.
Bump
Don't you have to have a brain, before you can lobotomize it?
Once again the Obama is style over substance.
Well, I’d rather have a frontal lobotomy than obama in ‘fronta’ me.
I’m so glad he’s calling for a spending freeze AFTER he’s spent a gazillion dollars and indepted our offspring for the next five generations...mighty whi...er...nice of him, don’t you think? /sarc
Poor lil boy president just can’t do anything right. I picture him laying on his cold bathroom floor in the middle of the night, head hung over the toilet, puking his guts out and begging Allah, or Rahm, to guide him.
I think the headline should read “...that won’t affect anything...”
Wouldn't that depend on whether you, or he, were faster with the fists?
The DNC Money Fairy - Isn't that where money comes from?
When every proposal seeks to maximize political advantage instead of solving the problem, this is what you get.
People are beginning to notice.
Moreover, the non-discretionary spending part of the budget (ie, entitlements) is on track to crowd out all discretionary spending in 10 years or less, unless the budget grows by leaps and bounds.
Neither one seems to be a particularly benevolent diety.
Yup! ;^) :
I knew Obama was going to be a bad president, but even I didn’t imagine he would be this bad, this quick. I expected the economy to rebound in spite of what he did, and he would get enough credit to get by for 3 years or so.
When you realize what he has done the first year, it is quiet scary. On his 2nd day in office, he changed all the interrogation rules, and still has yet to implement the HIG function. So we didn’t interrogate the Christmas bomber properly and gave him a lawyer. Then posted our interrogation techniques for our enemies to read. Major homeland security screw up, that mostly go buried in the Brown senate victory.
He has made us the laughing stock of the world. Yes, they love us because he has made us weak. It is only a matter of time before one of these radical countries does something really really bad. And all we will get from Obama is “let me be clear.....”.
I really believe he is the worst president of the last 40 years at least. Carter looks like a pretty competent president compared to this guy. They liked to make fun of Bush because of his speaking mannerisms. But on most issues, history has shown Bush did a very good job. He paid a heavy price by taking on Iraq. In the end, probably still the right decision. He did wimp out on spending the last few years. But otherwise Bush kept us safe.
History will show that Scott Brown saved the republic. I truly believe that.
Tell him to do what Reagan did
Scary, huh.
