As the Massachusetts blame game unfolds, the president’s unpopular health bill leads the list. But the substantive provisions of the bill were just part of the problem. Perhaps more important, voters were appalled by how the deal unfolded.

Consider the pre-election giveaway to the labor unions. Negotiators agreed to exempt union contracts until 2018 from the tax on so-called Cadillac health-insurance plans. That backroom bargain not only outraged the voters, it also violated the Fifth Amendment to the Constitution, requiring the federal government to extend equal protection of the laws to all U.S. persons. Of course, not all voters understood the constitutional nuances, but they sensed that something was very wrong; and they reacted.

I have been disturbed by the socialists for years, ever since I learned many members of Congress 'openly' joined the DSA (Democratic Socialists of America). Several years ago, the names were published on the DSA site. (since removed of course) Please post any info you have, many of you have been on this issue for many years, & if we can store it all on one thread, we have our FreeRepublic Warehouse on the enemies of the state. How DO we combat this, when it's coming at us from every angle? When the people have been asleep for decades. Please post anything you have found or accumulated. Also choose a dictator these people follow, of particular interest,those in D.C. who have been quoted with their adulation of one.

This year, it is George Soros, the billionaire hedge-fund operator who has turned like a snake on the system of economics that made him rich. His new book is "The Crisis of Global Capitalism," which argues for a world central bank and an army of new global regulators to straighten out the world monetary mess, according to the Sorosian prescription.

His conversion to the cause of financial socialism began as Congress refused to bailout Russia, and Soros' fund started bearing the weight of margin calls. Eventually, the losses would total $2 billion. His new book admits that he burned up the phonelines calling for governments to loot their taxpayers on his behalf, with additional panicked calls to central bankers and finance officials to pressure them into doing so.

Soros made the wrong bet, lost one of his shirts, and turned against capitalism. He believed himself to be the most powerful man in the world. It turned out that there is something more powerful, which is the market itself.

Though there was an ostensible revival of the Popular Front collaboration between Communists and liberals during the war, it was a temporary and essentially superficial phenomenon.

The party’s patriotism did little to overcome the hostility of its traditional enemies or make it any more popular with the general public. And once World War II ended and the cold war began, the Communist party again came under attack.

This is the word that needs to be spread from now until after November elections kitty! I worry about the RINO’s. One is about to win the Illinois primary next week. Kirk has voted with the dems more times than his own GOP. The Reagan conservative running against him, doesn’t have the backing of the party, name recognition, nor the GOP funds. While everyone is concentrating on the Nov. elections, a hardcore Blueline state is getting ready to have a RINO running against a liberal, who will win then? It will ‘still’ be Obama’s seat

It's my passion Cricket, thank you! My mother, was a groundbreaking activist/leader in Illinois. I saw her change from Dem when Eisenhower was running & she ran with it until the day she died. She was very pivotal in GOP Illinois politics. I do it in her honor.

When it comes to illegal immigration, I credit my maternal grandmother. She came her only speaking Polish. She became a citizen & learned English immediately. My grandfather did not. He was very stubborn -g-. when he would speak Polish to her, she would admonish him with “This is America, I will only speak to you in English”. Needless. to say Polish become his second language. I fight this issue in her honor.

I too do not feel Obamacare is dead, sadly. The socialists will go down tooth & nail. But the acknowledgment of calling them on it, recognizing them for what they are & fighting them on it, is where we need to concentrate.

Believe me, I have FRiends who are from his state. There is a big fight underway by them to see him unseated & sent home.
As Patriotic Freeper’s it is our duty, to rid our country of the RINO vermin as well. Notice he waffled on the issue of the treasury for a 2nd term. Yesterday he said he will vote against him. He's having Palin stump for him. Believe me, he knows he's in jeopardy of being sent home & living amongst the trash compiled from the illegals crossing over
