Home Depot Inc. is cutting 1,000 jobs nationwide as it continues to centralize its support operations and closes three pilot stores.
The home-improvement retailer said the cuts, which represent less than 1% of the roughly 322,000 workers it employs world-wide, are intended to boost productivity and are not in response to broader business or economic trends.

What happened to B.Hussein 0’s “hope and change?” What about stimulus? What about shovel ready jobs? You’d think that Home Depot would be a target rich environment for supplying those shovel ready jobs. Oh that’s right, 0’s a big liar and a very slick hustler.
Great. As it is, I have to traipse around in there for hours looking for what I want. Now I will never find anything.
I really dislike Home Depot...It’s one of the few stores that actually turned into an illegal alien sanctuary, that was completely approved by Home Depot’s corrupt corporate hacks.

...in my area, Lowes beats HD hands down. Customer service, supplies, everything. I try to go to local hardware stores when I can. Actually, when I can find one.

We have a Menard's & a Lowes. Menard's is a much better store all around but esp. so price-wise.
Home Depot should just get rid of the illegal day laborers hanging around in front of their stores and rather than lay off their salaried employees offer those jobs to them on straight commission.

Expanding support for families balancing work with caring for elderly relatives with a $102.5 million Caregiver Initiative adding $52.5 million in funding to Department of Health and Human Services caregiver support programs that provide temporary respite care, counseling, training, and referrals to critical services. The administration says the extra funding will allow nearly 200,000 additional caregivers to be served and 3 million more hours of respite care to be provided. It also adds $50 million to programs that provide transportation help, adult day care, and in-home services, such as aides to help seniors bathe and cook, help which eases the burden for family members and helps seniors stay in their homes.
