The FBI, alleging a plot to wiretap Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu's office in downtown New Orleans, arrested four people Monday, including James O'Keefe, a conservative filmmaker whose undercover videos at ACORN field offices severely damaged the advocacy group's credibility.
FBI Special Agent Steven Rayes alleges that O'Keefe aided and abetted two others, Joseph Basel and Robert Flanagan, who dressed up as employees of a telephone company and attempted to interfere with the office's telephone system.
A fourth person, Stan Dai, was accused of aiding and abetting Basel and Flanagan. All four were charged with entering fedral property under false pretenses with the intent of committing a felony.
A witness from Landrieu's staff said O'Keefe was present in the office and claimed to be "waiting for someone to arrive."

Like someone posted earlier, O’Keefe may have something on someone already. If he showed up at Landreau’s office he already knew something was up. A little talking with someone on the Senator’s staff could really help him.
If the charges are true, and I have considerable doubts, we have to remember that the dear Senator is an unindicated felon who threatened to murder President Bush during hurricane Katrina...

We have no idea if he were to do an interview and told to wait there and then he gets banged for this as a set up.

It says “O’KEEFE and DAI have also admitted to federal agents that worked with FLANAGAN and BASEL in the planning, coordination, and preparation of the operation.” That doesn’t say they admitted to anything. Furthermore, why would he admit something like that without lawyering up. This stinks like a 4 day old fish and should be tossed out with extreme prejudice.
Does anyone else think this is kinda odd? He wouldn't have been able to use what he found anyway without getting busted. So way bother? It just doesn't make sense.

we have no idea so lets not all jump to conclusions and to think many state on here to not trust the media or the white house and now this comes along with have about half on here condemning the mam already
Possibly it’s a frameup as well. Let’s hope the FBI doesn’t succeed in pulling off a fast one.
Don't forget that Breitbart said thare were more ACORN videos coming. It wouldn't surprise me if this was found to be a preemptive strike by the ACORNs in office prior to November.
When you embarrass a dictator, the dictator makes you impersonate phone company employees with the goal of bugging the official US Government-funded office of a US Senator? Sorry, this looks pretty indefensible to me.

Yep. If they try to prosecute him for this, I should think he would be within his rights to subpoena all of Landrieu’s appointment records, and maybe quite a lot more. Senatorial privilege you say? Fine, but I don’t see how you persecute someone if you won’t show the records.
What the democrats know is that the mainstream media will RUN with this story with great glee and gusto. Then later, even if the ‘facts’ weren’t exactly right, well too bad. The ‘gotcha’ guy has already been tarnished by the first report. Kind of like what they did with Sarah Palin. Paint her as dumb hick hockey mom from backwoods Alaska then make her re-claim her reputation.

you really think after all the heat he got that this smart guy would just tap a phone?
The only thing I can think of is that they were making a film about the Senator’s phone systems, with the fake phone repairmen there as props, in order to make a point about the Senator’s office never answering the phone when angry constituents call — ie the phones must be “broken”.
That’s the only halfway innocent explanation I can think of.
