Been to every one ... every one of them are awesome in their own right. The list could go on forever. God Bless Texas!

I’ve visited Luckenbach. It’s like 3 houses, a cafe/store/post office, and a dance hall.

Nice place to visit, but I don’t think many of us are going to be able to move there!

I’m really looking forward to one day getting on the road and seeing more of Texas. Since moving here in late 2005, we’ve fallen in love with our adopted state, but haven’t had the resources to see much outside of the DFW area.

I enjoyed reading the comments on the thread. Sorta helps to put some flesh on the bones of towns I’ve heard of.

I’d go with Muenster any day of the week. Predominantly German, it has two home town German restaurants and is the home of a great cheese maker. The supermarkets sell good old time German sausages made right there in the town. The folks are friendly and crime is low. The motorcycle ride there on 82 across North Texas is pleasant all the way from New Boston way past Vernon. Couple that with the fact there are still some good German stock babes in Muenster makes that place A-1 in my book.

I was in Taylor, Hutto, and Marble Falls a lot last week, all nice towns. I’ve promised my Texas wife a move to Texas at some point in our lives, hopefully the job market complies soon.

How ‘bout Possum Kingdom? I remember my father-in-law saying he’d spent time there once on a business trip.

I hate to brag but #3 and # 5 were founded by my ancestors.

Just kidding, I don’t hate to brag.

I agree with everything on the list except Luckenbach. There is nothing in Luckenbach except a beer hall. Of course if that is what you like that would make it just about Heaven.

I agree with Alpine

What about Shiner? Cleanist small town in Texas

Columbus is nice too.

Gonzales is pretty nice as well lots of History there.

Belmont is one of my favorite places in Texas though.

a friend moved to Georgetown into a DelRay(?) community and loves the area and the community. Money magazine, that leftist rag, names Georgetown one of the top small towns in the US
