How David Shuster Lied to Get Me to Appear on MSNBC
Big Journalism ^ | 1/28/10 | Andrew Breitbart

Posted on 01/28/2010 6:44:26 PM PST by Nachum

Today is the day that I have been invited to go on MSNBC for the very first time. At no point during the ACORN story was I put on the hot seat to defend the work of James O’Keefe. My thesis from day one has been that the mainstream media is biased in favor of the left and MSNBC is its most obvious case study.

So when MSNBC led the charge on Tuesday against James O’Keefe when he and three others were arrested in New Orleans at Senator Landrieu’s office, it came as no surprise that the cable network seized upon a narrative that presumed O’Keefe’s guilt, falsely extrapolated that he was being charged with felony wiretapping and instantaneously coined and repeated endlessly the new buzz phase, “Watergate Jr.”

Yeah - hang tough. It isn't you who's looking at 10 years in a federal penitentiary.

Shuster is despicable, but a basic reality is that TV people lie like this all the time if they think it necessary to get you on the air.

Rush’s theory is that O’Keefe et al were in Landrieu’s office to film her staff not answering phone calls from her constituents, so they could avoid hearing what they had to say and later claim that a faulty phone system kept her from responding to citizens’ complaints - probably not too bright, but not illegal......

It is nothing but astonishing that Shuster could write such clearly biased Tweets and still be employed by any ‘news’ organization, even NBC.

10 years, huh? Did you get the secret MSNBC memo detailing the actual charges? If so, please share!

Not illegal? Well, Rush ain't an attorney. She's on the Senate Energy, Appropriations, and Homeland Security committees. They were masquerading as utility workers to illegally gain access to her offices. What if they were AQ or Chinese and had not been discovered? These jokers could quite conceivably be looking at espionage charges, and deserve NO sympathy whatsoever. Whatever ends they imagined DO NOT justify the means.

Are you kidding me? You conspire to enter a US Senator's office in disguise with the purpose of surreptitiously recording events or conversations that take place there? Good grief! These guys are quite possibly in very deep guano.

I don’t think what they did is any worse than the countless journalists who brought fake guns and boxcutters on board airplanes to show how bad security was. Mary Landrieu is not a Queen. She is a public servant. A public servant who has been deliberately avoiding the angry calls of her constituents. Has the FBI never seen “Punked” or “Jackass”? These charges should be dropped ASAP.

Well, montag... or should I call you Guy? This claim, “countless journalists who brought fake guns and boxcutters on board airplanes”, is going to require some citation. But you are correct, she it not a queen - but she is a freaking United States Senator and as such has access to classified documents and a variety of other information not meant for disclosure by wannabe gonzo “journalists”. The FBI doesn’t care about “Punked” or “Jackass’; they're too busy throwing dumbshits' asses in jail for federal freaking crimes. These IDIOTS better pray for some leniency, cause they are up shit crick.

Ah, you have the memo or police reports showing they went somewhere other than publicly accessible places? You know, where any constituent could go? Great, share those!

Or is impersonating a utility worker a felony with a 10 year sentence? Man, those costume shops on Halloween are creating tons of felons!

Oh, wait, “manipulated” a phone, which is a fancy way of saying “picked it up” or “touched it.” Off with their heads!

And they had listening devices, aka cell phones. Felons!

Did they get access to anywhere off limits? Plant any bugs? Not from what I’ve read.

From what I’ve read, Landrieu and her mediawhores have jumped the shark badly. Now, if further facts come out showing O’Keefe et al did get access to private spaces under false pretense, did have a real bug on them, did more than picked up a phone, etc, then they are (a) stupid and (b) deserve to be prosecuted. That said, if you filter out the media hyperbole - including stuff that even MSNBC (!!!) reprimanded Obermoron’s sub for - there is no evidence of any of that out there.

Perhaps their intent was to show the level of security at the offices of someone to do with homeland security. If so, they succeeded in showing how far our enimies could go. I suspect they never touched anything and the matter will be quietly disposed of if I am correct. On the other hand, if I am wrong and they simply went crazy, then to jail they go. But initially, I don’t think O’Kefe is that stupid...Thoughts?

Wait a minute! Wait a minute! Slow down a little. Let's get the FACTS FIRST before you convict and hang them. OK? The media couldn't possibly be a little "biased" now, could they? Or, are you part of that media? (By part, I mean, supportive.)

Not illegal? Well, Rush ain't an attorney...it wasn't Rush's claim that it wasn't illegal - it was mine - the police have already said that they did not try to wiretap or in any other way interfere with Landrieu's phone service, and it isn't against the law for anyone claiming to be anybody to enter any Senator's office as long as the general public is normally allowed into the office - they weren't "AQ or Chinese", but as long as you're dealing in straw men, why not pretend they were carrying AK47's or the makings of a dirty bomb, and try to hang 'em on those trumped up charges? - O'Keefe said after the incident that "the truth will set us free", and I think he's right......
