SALISBURY, Conn. Actor Elmore "Rip" Torn has been charged with breaking into a Connecticut bank and carrying a loaded handgun while intoxicated.
State police say the 78-year-old Salisbury resident was arrested Friday night after police found him inside the Litchfield Bancorp with a loaded revolver.
The "Men in Black" actor has been taken into custody and booked on charges including burglary and possession of firearm without a permit. He is being held on $100,000 bond and is scheduled for a Monday appearance in Bantam Superior Court.

I’d give him ten years just for “Freddy Got Fingered”. Maybe fifteen.

It sounds as though Old Rip has taken all of the trashing of the banks by Bawney Fwank and the ‘RATS a little too seriously. Obama’s fault?

I'd guess alcoholic dementia for starters.

Well, Ol’Rip was ‘’ripped’’ and ‘’tore’’ into a bank. Seems like he was living up to his name.

He could have said it was a dress rehearsal for a new movie..LOL.
The real story behind this is he was drunk! And it's Not the first time he's been in trouble for being sloshed.
He needs some serious intervention and rehab.

So, if he’d gotten away with the loot, would that be considered a “rip off”??
I’m guessing with no SAG retirement benefits, he figured a few weeks in jail would at least mean he got a few meals and a place to sleep.

Rip Torn has had numerous alcohol related incidents in the past. He is a fine actor but like many in that profession has a drinking problem. I just found out that he was originally cast as the lawyer in Easy Rider, the role that Jack Nicholson eventually played and what brought him fame. Torn walked out on the movie because he got into an argument with Dennis Hopper who supposedly pulled a knife on Torn. Crazy.
