U.S. military cargos to fly across Russia to Afghanistan soon

The United States will soon start transporting military supplies to Afghanistan across Russian air space as only some technical problems remain, Russia's NATO envoy Dmitry Rogozin said on Friday.

Russia and the United States have discussed in detail the transit of military cargos through Russian air space on condition of inspection, Rogozin said in a video press conference between Moscow and Brussels.

A summit between Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and U.S. President Barack Obama in July 2009 saw an agreement allowing 4,500 flights a year carrying U.S. troops and weapons to Afghanistan across the Russian territory for free.

Obama hailed this move as a "substantial contribution by Russia to an international effort," as it will save the U.S. troops time and money. The agreement reportedly saves the U.S. government 133 million U.S. dollars annually.

And isn’t it ironic that the U.S. government once armed the Muslim terrorists so they could kill Russians?

Yep but now it's our problem. Or as the Russians would say "karma's a bitch".

Yeah, you have to wonder what would have happened if the US would have never opposed the Soviets going into Afghanistan back in 1979.

We could have just let the rat bastards fight it out to the last man.

It may have worked out a lot better than the current situation or it may have ended up worse.

It would have depleted the Saudis of their petro-dollars, through fuelling like crazy, an insurgency to tackle the Atheist Soviets.

Without American weapons, they’d have been forced to spend greater and greater amounts, and suffering greater losses, leaving less money for the Saudis to open mosques and indoctrination centres all over the rest of the world.

On the other hand, the Soviets would have soon gotten a warm water port into the Indian Ocean, and that would have messed things up significantly for the rest of the world.

At best, the delusional Muzzie nutters would have remained an insignificant population.

These issues can be arm-chair analysed to no end.

They sure can be arm-chaired. No doubt that if we (the U.S.) drilled for our own oil, we could tell the entire M.E. to rot. We have ignored the founder's advice and gotten ourselves involved in “foreign entanglements” that has destroyed our wealth.

This is what America gets for caring more who wins the NFL games than who runs the country.

Now that our new Russian “friends” let us fly over their territory can we protest anything they do? They can march right over Georgia or anyplace else and we will have to just lump it—or our troops get no more supplies and they will be left to rot. The Russians have us by the short hairs.

I agree 100%. We have compromised out interests around the world. Russia and China will soon control parts of the M.E. in the future, I fear.

It’s sad to watch this all play out.

Well what else are we supposed to do? If the Rooskies simply said nyet from the beginning we would have had to supply Afghanistan in some other fashion. So in either case we have to look at Square One.

But the Moose definitely are near the top of the list of things menacing the Rooskies, and if we’re helping to reduce that world menace that gives the Rooskies a reason to forbear. The enemy of my enemy is not always my friend, but it often works out that way.

No disagreement there.

I just can’t believe how it has come to be, that animal-savages like these have been allowed to become such a painful headache today.

More of this nonsense, and it will not be surprising if Muslims succeed in bringing a ‘Final Solution’ situation onto themselves - one that would make the Holocaust appear like a picnic.
