The US representative from Newton recently made it clear that Fannie and Freddie have little support left in Washington when he said they should be abolished. As chairman of the House Financial Services Committee he could be a leading architect in their possible demise, working with his committee colleagues and the Obama administration to rebuild the mortgage finance industry.

No Barney wants it shut down so the evidence of his crimes can be destroyed.

As chairman of the House Financial Services Committee he could be a leading architect in their possible demise, working with his committee colleagues and the Obama administration to rebuild the mortgage finance industry. Why exactly is the government doing anything? Are they saying that they made such a wonderful success of Fannie and Freddie that they are now ready to really make a go of a new GSE?

That's a start, but we still need to have the head of Bawney's political career on a platter - silver or otherwise - before we can conclude that the sad, tawdry affair of Fannie and Freddie is behind us. There is no substantive difference between Mr. Frank and any of the ponzi-scheme operators who have received their just deserts; it is high time that Mr. Frank joined them.

The economic meltdown’s orchestration has been revealed. I heard Boortz gripe about the deficit, then Rush, and now Hannity — all singing to the choir as if we don’t get it. Why the heck are they ducking this?
