China on Tuesday warned US President Barack Obama against meeting the Dalai Lama, saying it would "seriously undermine" Sino-US ties -- the latest salvo in an escalating row between the two powers. Beijing also said no progress had been made in the latest round of talks between Chinese officials and envoys of the Buddhist monk, saying the two sides remain "sharply divided" on the future of the Himalayan region.

The title shouldn’t be changed from the source.

Yep. It’s past tense. Of course, China said the same thing but Dubya still met the DL.

It’s not the meeting with the Dalai Lama that is important, but rather, a display to show China its proper place, that comes from meeting him, in defiance of their Communist diktat.

Who would have guessed a day would come, when America bows to China? I hope this news is not true.

Guess we are going to be stuck in this morass for a few years and then it’s going to be game on.

Nothing like a phony war to bring an economy out of boredom.

You can’t change the title, which didn’t even make sense with the article.

This is completely outrageous. China’s proven track record of denying basic human rights - means that we should not bow to them at all, regarding Tibet, Taiwan, etc. This is infuriating.

The Dalai Lama might not even want to see the Bummer anyhow, because the latter is such a jerk.
