Well, I really hold off judgment until we see how he votes. He can be a rock star, right up until he casts the first vote, and then he becomes reviled by whichever side. We shall see.

I was at the Dold party tonight. He is very bland and vague. Lot of moderate folks at the party.

The 275 precincts are in Cook County. About 180 in Chicago proper (mostly black) and 95 in the suburbs.

You’re absolutely right, we do need a pre-primary. We need (with specific respect to IL) a Reformist convention where all the anti-Combiner candidates come to participate, and they all agree that whomever is voted on at the convention will be the sole candidate participating against the Combiner choice. No Combiner candidates may participate at said convention (though they would try to ooze their way in). But with respect to the Senate race, we needed a first-tier challenger who could’ve united the Conservative Reformists. We didn’t have one. Even if we had come behind a second-tier choice, they would’ve likely come up short.

Obama has never changed. We knew what he was as early as 2004.

Sorry if I’ve been riding you a little bit. I can’t take this close vote. :o

If he were to win the primary, and then the general election, conservative Illinois voters should keep right up his rump to make sure he does what they want......or else. They have to be made crystal clear that their position is not secure and they serve at the pleasure of the people who installed them. No excuses, no fancy footwork, no straying from the straight and narrow. He falters, he’s toast.

Looks like PA will fairly easily be sending Corbett to succeed Fast Eddie, back to the usual 8-years on/8-years off for the parties holding the Governorship since ‘54.
