The Age of Obama: Anno Domini 2 (Charle Krauthammer's Lecture to the Heritage Foundation)
The Heritage Foundation ^ | 2/1/2010 | Charles Krauthammer

Perhaps I should have subtitled my address "How do you celebrate the first anniversary of the Second Coming?"-- a conundrum that has confounded theologians for centuries.

Six months ago, when I was thinking of my subject for this address, President Obama was halfway on his trajectory--downward trajectory--from divinity to mortality. But now that we've arrived at the last day of his first year at precisely the point where the magic has worn off and the charisma grown cold, where Massachusetts--bluest of blue--is even thinking of electing an obscure Republican to the U.S. Senate seat traditionally reserved for the Kennedy family and its functionaries, where Obama's approval rating is down to 46 percent, and where his disapproval rating is the highest ever a year after a President's election, there's no real need for me to trace and explain this remarkable fall.

So instead of talking about where Obama's domestic agenda has brought him, I propose to speak about where his foreign policy agenda has brought us.

“Pacifism is a serious subject for sweet adolescence, or a way of life for certain eccentric sects who, it must be noted, survive because they live among non-eccentric people who reject pacifism and fight to keep those little sects alive and free.”

We’ve got a winner!

This is spot on.

I don’t know why he is low on Sarah, but on everything else he is dead on.

Yes, he has the wierdest blind spots.

This essay/lecture is simply astonishing: one for the ages. It’s like having rocks rolled over you.

Maybe you guys have the blind spot. Sarah is a breath of fresh air in some respects but she is clearly not Presidential material. How can you say “this lecture is one for the ages” or “I don’t know why he is low on Sarah, but on everything else he is dead on” and then disregard his perception of Sarah Palin? Let’s not be conservative versions of Obamabots. Sarah Palin is a great teammate. She is not Ronald Reagan or the second coming of Christ. Krauthammer is brilliant. Sarah is not. Let’s be honest here.

Charles Krauthammer for POTUS!

Why not? FDR served in a wheelchair. A few differences - Charles is a conservative and is lightyears more intelligent.

“Krauthammer is brilliant. Sarah is not. Let’s be honest here.”

Let’s see from housewife to one of the most popular Governors in history in just eight short years...or, journalist/commentator for decades. Yes, Krauthammer MUST be more brilliant. Of course, has to be. Could only be...honestly.

Reagan was not brilliant either. He had common sense in spades, was a congenial person, possessed good judgment, and actually believed in middle America. I was there for RR and the press (surprise) belittled him for his intellect or repeated easily the words of those who did.

Sarah Palin from what I see probably has more smarts than RR. She has probably even better character traits than RR.

If she runs, her ability to articulate and lead will be judged by voters in IA NH SC etc. There will be no “fix” or buying of votes for SP. As for 2012, it is a long way off, but Capt. Kangaroo were he alive and a Republican, could beat the bozo currently in office.

Check out the whole article. It is excellent look at Obama and his utter failure to see the world situation, history and our part in it: and the disaster of his intentions world wide..

Charles has an astute view of our situation and has presented an especially clear idea of a complicated transition ...and its likely failure to the United Nations.

God help us in our day, in Jesus name, amen.

Using that logic, Obama is a brain surgeon. From slacker to community organizer to State Senator to President of the United States AND MOST POWERFUL MAN IN THE ENTIRE WORLD in just a few short years.

Also, don’t forget to add “abondonment of her constituents” to that part after “most popular Governor’s in history”... Honestly.

"No nation can dominate another? This is simple nonsense. How can a man of such intelligence-- and a president of the United States--even allow himself to utter these words?"

Just shows that the vaunted 'intelligence' the MSM claimed Obama has, is as illusory as his popularity.

Well, who said Obama is stupid? I don’t think he is, he has succeeded in a fascist takeover of this nation in less than a year with all our eyes open watching like fools...he isn’t stupid.

And neither is Sarah Palin, she has gone much further with her life, continuing on right now as well, than 99% of the people out there. She is what is called a one percenter...she excels big time!

BTW, she did not abandon the people of Alaska, she did the right thing as a leader who was being hounded mercilessly by the left...to the point where her administration was on defense against those attacks rather than the peoples business. What she is doing now is more productive to helping the people of Alaska, and the nation. That is what a real leader does...honestly. :)

I concede to your Obama observation. However, I simply disagree with your justification of her quitting her job as Governor. She made the committment. Granted, the left was definitely gunning for her but by capitulating to them she merely handed themn the outcome they desired. It is like training a dog. You don’t reward bad behavior.

Whether she is being productive now or not is not the issue. The issue I have is that she abandoned her committment to the people of Alaska to sell a book and become a Fox News contributor. That all could have been done subsequent to completing her term.

I know you disagree, but I do not think she is Presidential material. As I said, she has much value to the conservative movement but, in my opinion, not as it’s ultimate leader.

Honestly.
