Fox to air Palin's Tea Party address

Fox News will broadcast Sarah Palin’s keynote address to the National Tea Party Convention live on Saturday night, allowing millions of viewers to see the main attraction of a gathering that was once criticized for barring the press.

The network, which pays Palin as a political analyst and is considered the favored network of conservatives, will carry Palin’s speech during Geraldo at Large in the 9 p.m. hour, a network spokeswoman told POLITICO.

On Monday, convention organizers announced that they had credentialed Fox as well as CNN, Reuters TV and Pajamas Media, and was working with them to facilitate video coverage of select parts of the convention. But neither the organizers, nor the media outlets, announced specific coverage plans.

Representatives for CNN, which has the second widest reach among credentialed broadcast outlets to Fox, did not immediately respond to an email asking whether they intended to broadcast Palin’s speech or any other portions of the convention live.

All the pro-CPAC bloggers who have been boycotting reporting on Palin's Facebook notes, must be very very unhappy to find out that she will now have an audiance of several million. You can bet that FOX will rebroadcast the speech at least twice on Sunday, and maybe even the following weekend.

Boy this is interesting legal ground. An undeclared candidate, giving a political speech, while being employed by a news outlet, possibly being coved by opposing media channels, etc, etc...???

Someone bodily carry Whorealdo away from the Palin speech quick, and dump him into the backstreets. I want to see the Palin speech without Whorealdo annoying me by spoiling my view, and talking his normal nonense.

That is new how?
Only declared candidates can give political speeches?
When did they change the first amendment then?

Yeah sure, she has legal cover here. And you don't think this is a very unusual situation?

Your inferences have no basis of any credibility, not to mention intellect, so maybe you should reconsider your case before you REALLY make a fool of yourself.

Undeclared candidate. Hmmmmmmmm. So I imagine that makes every American citizen an undeclared candidate so we must all hold our tongues, is that where you want to go?

I’m not inferring she can’t or shouldn’t do it, I just saying the situation is unique in history. If you can't see that than I wonder about your questionable intellect. >

BUT WHY MUST WE HAVE TO ENDURE WHORALDO TO SEE IT?!?!?!?!?!

Hey FoxNews, tokenism is not anyone’s friend. Get someone credible to take over that slot and send this fool back to the alphabets, or better yet, MSNBC.

You are abolutely wrong on it being “unique”. All of those pundits on all of those channels are all news contributors to the networks they appear on and somewhere along the line have given speeches at political party partisan events while some are actually holding a seat in public office.

Your analysis is even more fundamentally flawed in that this speech is being given to a group, that by law (tax status), cannot endorse one party over another.

Most pundits in the media aren’t likely to be candidates for president. So let’s see how she handles this opportunity
if it is broadcast.
