...The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) intends to purchase sixty Remington Model 870 Police RAMAC #24587 12 gauge pump-action shotguns for the Criminal Investigation Division. The Remington parkerized shotguns, with fourteen inch barrel, modified choke, Wilson Combat Ghost Ring rear sight and XS4 Contour Bead front sight, Knoxx Reduced Recoil Adjustable Stock, and Speedfeed ribbed black forend, are designated as the only shotguns authorized for IRS duty based on compatibility with IRS existing shotgun inventory, certified armorer and combat training and protocol, maintenance, and parts...

I clicked on the link to check and sure enough it's 14 inches (14") not 14 feet (14').

all laws necessary and proper

Bottom line - the government is ready to kill your sorry @ss if you don't pay your taxes - and you have neighbors that approve of such actions...

That was yesterday.

You wouldn’t understand, but “lawful” is a living, evolving paradigm and contextual. You have to have gone to Harvard, or Yale law school. It’s deep. So, basically do as they say.

Nothing new there. Ever heard of the Whiskey Rebellion? Happened during the Washington administration. The national gubmint, eager to establish its dominance, marched thousands of troops to the site of the rebellion, with Washington and then Hamilton riding at the head of the march, rounded up and imprisoned whoever they could find.

While the tax was supposedly supposed to help pay off the national debt (they had assumed the state debts from the war), Hamilton stated that the tax was ""more as a measure of social discipline than as a source of revenue."

The Federalists, so loved by conservatives, were the big government taxers and social engineers of their era. They seem tame by today's standards, but back then, real conservatives OPPOSED them.

Bottom line: What is happening now is nothing new. It is merely the continuation of things set in motion in 1787.

“...Vice sure had some interesting firearms at times.”

Thank Michael Mann. Guy does great research. David Mamet (The Unit, Spartan, Ronin, House of Games, etc.) is another one who does the right thing.

If we could just get the Foley artists (sound guys who do footsteps, breaking necks, etc.) to not add the sound of a revolver being cocked when an actor rips a glock or sig out of their holsters.

Crocket carried a Bren 10!

I remember one episode where there was a sniper who not only
had an authentic rifle it was also a left hander. In another the
troops in some banana republic were carrying AK 74s (which I assume were doctored up 47s) when none that I know of
were on the civilian market.

How ironic, gun sales are up for private citizens as well!

Well, personally, until every person has 7 or more, as far as I am concerned, there is an un met need.

I’m not like one of those gun loveing wacko’s. There is no need for anyone to have, say, more than 6-900 weapons.( Historical collectors excluded )

So you're suggesting that the "real conservatives" were more in agreement with Mr. Jefferson & Mr. Madison, rather than the Federalists?

Just wondering...

Madison and Jefferson were for the Federalists before they were against them. Madison published essays as a Federalist. Jefferson supported Madison from afar. By the time they started opposing the Federalists, it was too late.

Hmmm accurate depictions of firearms. Perhaps having G Gordon Liddy on the show was useful in more ways than one

John Milius is another one who generally gets things right. Wikipedia (another way of saying "YMMV" - in spades ;>) currently suggests that he's the president of PETA - if true, I guess he's just another Hollywood whack job who happens to know a little something about firearms...

Whatever else, the marxists who rule us plan ahead brilliantly.

They can get all the guns they want. When the people realize the fraud that has been done to them, at their expense, and a few’s benefit, there won’t be enough guns or mercenaries to use them.
