...Seriously: if you were a Bush follower, wouldn't you feel as though you were owed a major apology for all the accusations and the fuss that came from Democrats and media figures?..." Yup. Where is that picture of Bush saying, "Miss me yet?"

George Bush did not perform a perfect job. But seeing what he had to work with in Washington DC some things are understandable. The media is what destroyed GWB. We all know what side they are on.
The media also buried McCain which didn’t need much help.
The media buried Hillary which was a delight.
The media elected Obama.
Here we are.

it is not only Republicans — but Democratic and media establishment figures as well — who clearly crave the preservation of the Bush/Cheney approach to Terrorism and civil liberties.

Many of these journalists live in New York and the surrounding areas. 9/11 is very real to them. Likely many have friends and family whose lives were lost.

Having this terrorist trial in N.Y. is a direct poke in the eye.

If Obama had been the one to open GITMO to terrorists, he would have been regarded as brilliant. Bush was opposed not because he was wrong so much as he was not Democrat. Now that he is gone and the White House is Democrat, there is no reason to oppose a lot of Bush’s policies.
