Speaking at the National Prayer Breakfast, President appeals for a return to "civility" in politics. "You can question my policies without questioning my faith -- or for that fact, my citizenship," he says, a reference to those who insist Obama wasn't born in Hawaii.

Citizenship or natural born citizenship? By his own accounting of circumstances, the latter should actually be very much in question—Hawaii birth or not.

Citizenship is a straw man argument. I accept that he’s a “citizen”. I don’t accept that he meets the constitutional requirements for the presidency. Which is rather a big deal.

OK, Barry! We reserve the right to say anything! Kindly read the 1st Amendment of the Constitution.

BTW, have you checked your footprint against the Birth Certificate from Kenya? If not, why? It is just a very simple procedure and would prove or disprove your claim!

I am a birther.

I think the Kenyan fears the birther issue as he knows that it is a deadly threat to him. He doesn’t have a birth certificate to produce if so ordered.

As far as civility, the left wing has done the most of the demonizing. Get back to us when Huff Po, Daily Kos, DU, MoveOn.org and the MSM stop demonizing conservatives. Not to mention MSNBC.

I don’t question your citizenship bambi, I question your eligibility. Now, in the course of you proving your eligibility we may find some interesting things about your citizenship. Nevertheless, you can be a U.S. citzen but not a natural born U.S. citizen and as such you would not be eligible for the presidency.

So, how about showing your long form BC, k?

I can question all those. It's my right as an American citizen... you'd know that if you were one, you treasonous snake.

"You can question my policies without questioning my faith -- or for that fact, my citizenship,"

Seems an odd statement to me. You don't have to question his faith, his actions speak louder than words. If he were a true believe in Christ, he would know that government isn't the answer and never has been. God is. My question is, if he is an American citizen, what's the big deal proving it? It would shut up a lot of people. I've heard O'Rielly say it's ridicules to think he's not and Glenn Beck too. But, I think it seems odd if he is, why he won't just prove it with a birth certificate. Just odd, very odd.

From looking at the video posted by Talking Points Memo, the citizenship comment was read off the Teleprompter. This was no off the cuff joke, it was deliberate White House strategy.

I question his faith as well. I just can’t believe he is a true believer in Jesus Christ with all the anti-Christ leanings he has.

Sorry, zero, you leave many unanswered questions.

You nailed it. This is meant to demonize the opposition and it falls in line with the Menendez strategy of how to marginalize the Tea Party movement. The message is that the birthers and deniers are right wing crazies.

Civility begins at the top. Of course, when you have a TOTUS that is an immature brat there will never be civility. He always talks about how he wants us all to get along and in the next breath insults the Right. Every day. Non-stop. He thinks we’re stupid. He thinks the majority of Americans believe everything he says simply because he says it. He need to GO, NOW!

Watching this idiot speak now at the National Prayer Breakfast. He referred to a “Navy corpsman” not once, but TWICE, as “CORPSE-man”. I’m not kidding.

Obama manages to make the prayer breakfast ALL ABOUT HIM. Here is President Bush's last prayer breakfast speech, compare and contrast:

"It is fitting that we gather in prayer, because we recognize a prayerful nation is a stronger nation. (Applause.)

"Every President since Dwight Eisenhower has attended the National Prayer Breakfast, and I am really proud to carry on that tradition. It’s an important tradition, and I’m confident Presidents who follow me will do the same. The people in this room come from many different walks of faith. Yet we share one clear conviction: We believe that the Almighty hears our prayers, and answers those who seek Him. That’s what we believe; otherwise, why come? Through the miracle of prayer, we believe He listens—if we listen to His voice and seek…His presence in our lives—our hearts will change. And in so doing, in seeking God, we grow in ways that we could never imagine.

"In prayer, we grow in gratitude and thanksgiving. When we spend time with the Almighty, we realize how much He has bestowed upon us, and our hearts are filled with joy. We give thanks for our families, we give thanks for the parents who raised us, we give thanks for the patient souls who married us, and the children who make us proud each day. We give thanks for our liberty, and the universal desire for freedom that He has written into every human heart. We give thanks for the God who made us in His image, and redeemed us in His love.

"In prayer, we grow in meekness and humility. By approaching our Maker on bended knee, we acknowledge our complete dependence on Him. We recognize that we have nothing to offer God that He does not already have, except our love. So we offer Him that love, and ask for the grace to discern His will. We ask Him to remain near to us at all times. We ask Him to help us lead lives that are pleasing to Him. We discover that by surrendering our lives to the Almighty, we are strengthened, refreshed, and ready for all that may come.

"In prayer, we also grow in boldness and courage. The more time we spend with God, the more we see that He is not a distant king, but a loving Father. Inspired by this confidence, we approach Him with bold requests: We ask Him to heal the sick, and comfort the dying, and sustain those who care for them. We ask Him to bring solace to the victims of tragedy, and help to those suffering from addiction and adversity. We ask him to strengthen our families, and to protect the innocent and vulnerable in our country. We ask Him to protect our nation from those who wish us harm, and watch over all who stepped forward to defend us. We ask Him to bring about the day when His peace shall reign across the world, and every tear shall be wiped away.

"In prayer, we grow in mercy and compassion. We are reminded in prayer that we are all fallen creatures in need of mercy. And in seeking God’s mercy, we grow in mercy ourselves. Experiencing the presence of God transforms our hearts, and the more we seek His presence, the more we feel the tug at our souls to reach out to the poor, and the hungry, the elderly, and the infirm. When we answer God’s call to love a neighbor as ourselves, we enter into a deeper friendship with our fellow man, and a deeper relationship with our eternal Father.

"I believe in the power of prayer, because I have felt it in my own life. Prayer has strengthened me in times of personal challenge. It has helped me meet the challenges of the presidency. I understand now, clearly, the story of the calm in the rough seas. And so at this final prayer breakfast as your President, I thank you for your prayers, and I thank our people all across America for their prayers. And I ask you not to stop in the year ahead. We have so much work to do for our country, and with the help of the Almighty, we will build a freer world, and a safer, more hopeful, more noble America.

"God bless." (Applause.)

Biden would be president instead if Obama was tossed out.

Seems to me he would be impeachable as an accomplice.

Ask yourself why Obama would now bring that topic up if the furor has died down?

Good question.
