Even before meeting Obama, new Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown and the White House found themselves in a fight over the job-creating results of the stimulus faster than you can say "Tea Party" or "Recovery Act."
"The last stimulus bill didn't create one new job," Brown said at his first official Senate press conference. Asked again if he really meant President Obama's $787 billion stimulus "didn't create one new job," Brown plowed ahead.
"That's correct. In Massachusetts, it hasn't created one new job and throughout the country, as well, It may have retained some, but it hasn't created any new jobs."
To put it mildly, the White House begs to differ.
"The Recovery Act has saved or created 53,000 total jobs in Massachusetts," said Jay Carney, spokesman for Vice President Joe Biden, citing statistics from the White House Council on Economic Advisers (CEA). "
On Jan. 14, the conservative Heritage Foundation argued the stimulus failed to meet initial White House projections on job creation, leaving a 6.8 million gap between promises and current reality.

Which Congressional district were the jobs created in? The 40th? The 22nd?
Ooooooooooh. Bamster ain’t gonna like that! LOL!! GO BROWN!!!
Overheard Obama whisper..”damn you Ted, why did you leave us with this truck-driving yahoo. Hope you’re burning in hell..”
Brown to Obama -
“Prove It!”
Great start for Scott. Yeah
If you go to Vegas and win a couple of $5 slots but overall blow 100 grand.
Did you win 10 bucks. Or did you lose 100 grand?
Net new jobs created = Negative 3 million.
Truth telling shall not be tolerated.
If I were a betting man, my money would be on Scott Brown. Not on the government figures that come up with “unexpected” totals every time you turn around.
You know, by Scott saying this now he should put OBAMA on the defensive. Instead of Obama trying to get Scott to prove what he said is right, Scott should be telling Obama to prove that he created new jobs in Mass.
Brown might be found to have made a mistake - but in doing so the O admin’s Millions and millions of jobs created will turn out to be about 50,000. He He
Especially if Brown turns around and says Hey I was talking about private sector jobs not government employees.
I agree with your analysis and assumed immediately when Scott spoke, that was his meaning.
Besides were we not told of all the police officers, teachers and firemen who “KEPT” their jobs because of the “STIMULUS” package??
Thinking that was Scott’s meaning when he used the word “retain” ??
Prove It!
Exactly! Brown served in the State Senate in Massachusetts so he would be familiar with the jobs statistics in his own state. Plus, he is a lawyer and he would not make a statement without having the goods. If the Obama twits want to tangle with him on facts they're going to have a tiger by the tail.
