Speaking last night on his show ‘Countdown,’ MSNBC host Keith Olbermann blasted what he perceives as a conservative-led conspiracy to convince Americans that his show’s popularity has faded precipitously since the election of President Obama last year. Among the collaborators in this bizarre right-wing scheme, he alleges, are the Los Angeles Times, Daily Finance, and Page Six.
Writes the Top of The Ticket blog at the Los Angeles Times in the post that infuriated the MSNBC host (not exactly a biased right-wing outlet, despite Olbermann’s comments):
Olbermann’s network president, Phil Griffin, is publicly praising him, always an ominous sign in television. While referring to his host almost in the past tense. “Keith has been our tentpole,” Griffin says, adding later, “I’m pleased with where we are.”Where they are, as Jeff Bercovici points out over at Daily Finance, is way behind the big boys over at Fox News, Bill O’Reilly and gang. In fact, Keith is so far behind Bill, he can’t even make out the state of the license plate, let alone the numbers. Bercovici thinks Americans may be outgrowing Olbermann’s schtick.
In the most desirable TV demographic of 25-54, which Keith will soon outgrow himself, “Countdown” lost 44% of its audience from the beginning of President Obama’s term until this year.

If Olbermann’s mom stopped watching him, his audience would be reduced by 33%
I’m sorry! my deepest apologies to You! You are entirely correct....Let PMSNBC keep doing what they are doing! Let them NOT Discover those Famous Words of Einstein! I wont repeat them knowing that all those Yokels at PMSNBC will be too stupid to Google those famous words of Einstein!! But any of You who own G.E. Stock should be screaming for the G.E. Because the guy is dumber than a post. So why not use him as a tent pole.

No kidding, the Los Angles Times is a dripping Liberal rag. Constantly promoting gay rights, illegal alien rights, and anti-gun dogma. It has recently scaled back its printed edition in size and I think we will see the end of it by 2011.
Olbermann will finally drop off of the radar, just like the Dixie Chicks, when FR stops talking about him.

I used to watch him and O’Reilly and Anderson Cooper and Beck and Matthews and Hannity and Greta and Maddow and....Then I stopped. Much better.
Another funny part was that MSNBC chose a bar in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston. The Maddow crowd packed the place so it looked like they were broadcasting live from a collegiate softball tournament.

The reality is Oblermann’s ratings are about the same now as they were before the election campaign began. He’s still MSNBC’s biggest show and they still make money off him.
Oblermann didn’t keep the jump in ratings he got during the campaign, but he retains his basic audience. That o’Reilly has a much larger audience doesn’t mean MSNBC has no viewers.
Olbermann’s schtick is getting frayed, but there is no sign MSNBC has anything that could do better. So I think he’s safe for the time being.
It was about 15 years for Ceausescu to become like that!
I think if you were to count his mom it could be as many as three.
