This a strange year...hopefully anything can happen. We need her in Congress. When J.C. Watts and Gary Franks were in the House they helped move a lot of Black Dims to the center. Maybe the brothas will think they have a chance with her (haha).

The important fact here is that she has the “guts” to tell it like it is unlike RATs and RINOs. The battle to take back America requires spine and guts. Those lacking both qualities need not apply.

I have read all of the comments on this thread and none have a grasp that McGlowan is wearing sheeps clothing. She has come out on a radio program advocating gun control. McGlowan publically stated she wants a mandate to register weapons recorded with the IRS returns. Her stance on the 2nd Amendment is in line with Obama, Schumer, and the liberals. Anyone that is willing to throw the 2nd Amendment under the bus is willing to throw the rest under it. She has the “guts” to misrepresent herself to get in...after that she is going to turn on the Conservatives like a mad dog. Yes, she will get the affirmative action and white guilt vote but her those that have their eyes open will not vote for her.

McGlowan apparently made a comment about gun registration, which would certainly hurt her.

Geoff Davis is a great rep and I'm glad he's favoring competitive primaries.

eggsactly.

she has significant 2nd amendment issues, and likely will finish 3rd in a field of three.

I heard the Paul Gallo interview with McGlowan. McGlowan made her gun control statements and when Gallo pursued the subject she became arrogant, testy and evasive. Her actions and demeanor after Gallo began to question her beliefs reminded me of Obama and the how dare you question me? attitude. I believe every voter in the MS-1 need to hear her on that issue and if they consider themselves a conservative or Republican and vote for her then they are nothing but a RINO. She is polished but I believe she is a Obama Democrat in a RINO clothing. Her statements then IMO made her a vote splitter and when she decides to go negative on the other two (which her high $ D.C. handlers will use) she will be toast.

Not a snowball’s chance in hell. Childers is just Blue Dog enough. If she somehow won the nomination race gives him the re-election in a big way.

Ironically enough, she probably has a good chance to win the nomination. This is a part of Mississippi where the old one party system rules. The only county where people even bother voting in the Republican Primary is Desoto.

She’s a certain loser in the general election but she does have a real shot in the primary, if just because no one votes in it.

And this also applies to Phillip who is running in a similar area in Alabama. Fact of life is fact of life and I understand why people who are lifelong Democrats, even for Kerry, are all the sudden coming over to us. I’ll at least admit it.

I’m sorry to say this, but I don’t think she’ll win. Republicans already have two candidates with electoral experience. Also, the race thing will hurt with a few voters, though not most of them. To top it off, she seems to be squishy on 2nd. Amendment issues. She seems like a great lady overall.

Perhaps she should have sought some kind of local office first.

I didn't hear the interview on Gallo, but I read about it the day after. Angela seems like a nice lady, and she may well be a Republican. But how can anyone say they are a conservative if they favor full and complete registration of all personal firearms?

It makes no sense to me. Angela would have a better chance running in the primary against the Democrat.

Don’t to be so sure. Much as I hate to say it, if the unemployment rate comes down a couple of notches and the stock market doesn’t crash, the Democrats (including Reid) could survive the election.

It would make sense for the thinkers on the DNC side to fund and support McGlowan for the MS-1 seat. The majority of the Republican Primary voters in the DeSoto County area voting for McGlowan and taking Nunnelee (from the East voting area) from the equation. Nunnelee is the only candidate that could remove the crooked Joey Childers because the voters in the East would go for Alan. Childers best supporters and funders, a little RINO family from Corinth, has helped him while he was selling real estate (laundering money from Frankel?)and to get him elected here with the help of a RINO former state Senator (pro tempore). Childers other associations are well known..Langston, Scruggs, et al. It would not be a stretch for the money to put McGlowan in there to keep Nunnelee out and thereby keeping Childers in. There is a lot of crooked money betting on Childers keeping his seat.

As much as I would love for a telegenic, conservative black woman to be elected as a Republican to Congress from the Deep South, it would be idiotic to nominate someone in that district that isn’t solid on the right to bear arms.

First, if she does as you accuse, she will be voted out in two years. Second, it is already the law that a federal stamp must be purchased in order to own a full auto weapon or a suppressor or a special length barrel long gun (rifle or shotgun). You may have miss-heard her comments, or you may be misrepresenting what she said. Time will reveal either way. She is a conservative woman. Women in general are not as warm toward guns as we men. But what you are accusing is so inconsistent with other utterances from her that I doubt you heard correctly what you are reporting.

I grew up in Chickasaw County and I think it was the 70’s when a brave military wife started a Republican club. I am a State person myself. Went there many years ago. One of the most beautiful campuses in the SEC.

Paul Gallo, me, and thousands of other Mississippians heard her and her statements. Her defense of her statement made me look at her 180 degrees from what I had seen her previously. Read some comments on Y’all Politics.com about her statements. What she said on the program tells me she is toast before she comes out of the box. Her statements alone on that program, her defense, actions and demeanor after having said it IMO make her suspect in all that she does from hereon. McGlowans attack toward the 2nd Amendment puts her in the category of Obama, Schumer, and the Bradys.

I think Nunnelee will win it back.

As Clintonfatigued mentioned McGlowan unfortunately seems squishy on the 2A.

http://mississippicongressblog.blogspot.com/2009/08/mcglowan-and-guns.html

“Ms. McGlowan, a potential congressional candidate agreed with the need for gun registration. “

That will not play at all. You can’t have a Republican to the left of the rat on guns.
