Your tax dollars at work. The real problem here is the federal government and the Congress-critters think $2.5 million is a drop in the bucket, but for many Americans, it is more money than will be earned in a lifetime. I understand $2.5 million is something like 0.0000066 percent of the budget, but perception matters.

You could have stopped the headline after the third word.
There were a lot of people who were surprised when I told them $2.5 million taxpayers dollars were spent on that lame-ass commercial.
I saw a Spanish language version of this in the elevator today at my county center. No English so I had little idea about what it was talking about. I feel browned off about this.
IMO, they were talking more to those who receive money and benefits funneled to them from government. The message was: make sure you get counted or the money might dry up.
It was a horrible commerical. If not for someone saying "it's just like the census" I would have had no idea what that commerical was about.
And all this time I thought we were out of money. Silly me.
Is it against the law to ignore a census request via the mail?
they’ll come to your house
There is a constitutional mandate to do the census but I have a hard time finding a penalty for not participating. Maybe there is one...
Yeah, who knows how schools ever manage to deal with growing enrollment the other nine years when there’s no census.
“Two adult citizens, one male and one female, reside at this domicile.”
After the commercial I looked at my wife and just shook my head. They crammed as many leftist as they could in the piece and the commercial did not reach their target audience (the type of people the left wants counted; low IQ). Guarantee you half the people who saw it didn’t even know what it was about.
Let’s see, Obama get 10 minute infomercial during pregame (never happened before), and the census bureau (run out of white house) spends millions of advertising dollars during program (never happened before). Could they be, like, connected? HMMMMMM?????
To my knowledge, and I will be the first to admit it is limited, it is an offense to willfully give incorrect responses to the census.
I don’t plan to answer with incorrect information. I plan to throw the form in the trash. If a census taker comes on my property, wife and I will escort that person off.
