The gift given by the wise men to the baby Jesus probably came across the deserts from Oman. The BBC's Jeremy Howells visits the country to ask whether a commodity that was once worth its weight in gold could be reborn as a treatment for cancer.

This is a fascinating look at the potential use of frankincense, something most people only know from bible stories on Christmas.

“BCE”
So silly that they try to take Jesus out of the picture. They are stilling using the observed date of his birth as “0.” It lends no scientific objectivity to their writings.

“Cancer starts when the DNA code within the cell’s nucleus becomes corrupted...”
That is one theory. And, unfortunately, since Nixon declared war on cancer, nearly all government grants require that research begin with that premise.
Another theory is that cancer begins in the mutation of chromosomes, caused by the replication of daughter cells.

Interesting article. Thanks for posting.

Leave it up to scientists to start busting up the oil into agents to find the one that is closing down cancer cells. If Christ wanted Frankincense to be thusly broken down, He would have placed 17 tappers in the trunk of the Boswellia sacra tree. My suggestion is to use the oil as is, and not be so concerned as to when the scientists make their full "discovery." Christ left us with His Body, so that we may all have healed souls (providing we live by the *other* rules of Catholic Church), so why wouldn't He also leave us with healing for our physical selfs as well? I personally have used Frankincense every day for months on end along with frequent using of Myrrh as well.
What is very important in regard to the oils, is that *therapeutic* oils are used. Many, many companies make oils that are nice to smell but they will do next to nothing in regard to healing. So if you investigate (Young Living's by the way are therapeutic), make sure you're getting the good stuff.
If you have a child that is prone to outbursts, nothing works better that I have tried than Frankincense in settling him or her down. You need to mix it a bit with a carrier oil (jojoba is good) as Frankincense is concentrated and can burn the skin, however you're usually safe with putting it full strength on the bottoms of the feet.
Another oil that is worth its weight in gold is Melissa oil. An amazing nerve tonic (it's expensive!), it busts anxiety like no pharmaceutical I've ever taken before. And leaves you feeling well, not drugged.
They also make an oil called R.C. It's been said it can stop an asthma attack. I have no personal information on that, but I use R.C. every night for clear breathing whilst sleeping. Another terrific oil!

You’re welcome. Know that the company will not in any way say that Frankincense may cure cancer. They are forbidden to do so, as there is no proof in that regard. I, myself, do not have cancer and the few people I know of that do, will not try the oils, so I have no rosy tales to tell, but I just sent my good friend, who has only weeks to live (spread to her liver) this article, and I hope she’ll allow me to at least give her a Frankincense foot rub. I’ve been trying for years and years to get her to try the holistic route. She just smiles (while giving me the roll-eye), says no, and continues with the chemical-only attack. I say everything holistic is at least worth a try. Many doctors will tell you it’s just a waste of your hard-earned money. In fact, my Endo laughs right in my face.
