We were at the Grand Canyon during that time. Since the federal government was shut down, the park was open but they couldn’t charge people to come in. So it was open and closed simultaneously.
now that you mention it, it seems like there is a DC snow story about every other year. the same story: the area
can’t handle it. i’ve also never understood why utility wires are above ground with all the ice storms knocking electricity out in the winter. these recurring stories make is seem like Groundhog Day!
“Federal agencies in the Washington, DC, area are CLOSED.”
Blockade the roads, set up machine guns and mortars to cover all ingress and call in air strikes so the pigs can’t get back in.
Yet another $150 Billion saved.
Next week an Alberta Clipper is heading across the Northern Plains and aiming for the Mid East.
