Ex-Fox News pundit launches House bid in Miss. By Sean J. Miller - 02/09/10 06:13 PM ET
Conservative author Angela McGlowan (R) launched her bid to unseat Rep. Travis Childers (D-Miss.) Monday by declaring herself pro-life, pro-gun and pro-small business.
"In Massachusetts, the people rose up and reclaimed their seat in the U.S. Senate in an election that's been compared to 'the shot heard around the world,'" McGlowan, a former Fox News Channel contributor, said in a statement. "But that was just the beginning, let the rebellion in the House of Representatives start right here in Mississippi."
Childers beat Southaven Mayor Greg Davis (R) by 10 points in 2008.
McGlowan, an Oxford, Miss., native, had declared in spring 2008 that she intended to run for Childers' seat. She now faces state Sen. Alan Nunnelee and former Eupora Mayor Henry Ross in the June 1 Republican primary. Nunnelee recently reached "contender" status in the National Republican Congressional Committee's Young Guns program.

“The level of insane liberal hate will reach Sarah Palin proportions”
yes I think you are right, the first time I saw Michele Bachmann, I said uh oh they are going to vilify her, but like the others Angela can take care of herself.

Even if her (D)im opponent is anti gun?? Are we back to the lesser of two evils rationale again? I wouldn't vote for anyone that doesn't believe responsible, law abiding people have an unbridled right to defend themselves.

If she is elected, McGlowan would be a Republican star, not an anonymous back-bencher like the other GOPer in the race.
To: realpatriot
She’s not anti gun. She made a statement on a radio show that was dumb regarding telling the Feds about your guns.
I don’t agree with her, but I don’t agree with Scott Brown on abortion either.

She seems a lot brighter than the last black Republican Congressman, J.C. Watts. Nice guy, but not too strong in smarts category.

Ain’t it the truth!!!!! I’ve always enjoyed her comentary—and it comes in an atractive package as well. I think she has the toughness to stand up to the nags, the girlie boy commies and the black demagogues (sp?).
I’m rooting for her and will send her money once she gets her cmpaign in gear.

I wouldn't vote for anyone that doesn't believe responsible, law abiding people have an unbridled right to defend themselves. I would give my vote to a conservative gun grabber over a flaming liberal grabber any day of the week. To do otherwise, and NOT VOTE, doubles the vote of a liberal voter. Political considerations run deeper than they may appear on the surface.

Shes not anti gun. You're right, she's
not anti gun. She is, however, pro registration.
And registration
never leads to confiscation, does it?
Gun Control's Nazi Connection
Rep. Dingell expressed concern that if firearms registration were required, it might lead to confiscation of firearms, as had happened in Nazi Germany. Tydings angrily accused Rep. Dingell of using "scare tactics":
"Are you inferring that our system here, gun registration or licensing, would in any way be comparable to the Nazi regime in Germany, where they had a secret police, and a complete takeover?"
Rep. Dingell backed away.I ain't Dingell.
Snip...Rep. Dingell does not appear to have pursued the matter: the firearms registration provision was not included in GCA '68. The Congress was stampeded on "gun control" by public enthusiasm. Martin Luther King had been murdered on April 4, 1968, and Robert F. Kennedy had been murdered on June 6, 1968.
"You never want a serious crisis to go to waste, and what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things that you didn't think you could do before." Rahm Emanuel

I like what she stands for.
I’m going to check her out further.
If I like what I see, I am going to send her some big bucks like I did Scott,
before 0 takes it all way.

I listened to her at the Tea Party. She’s one tough lady. I hope she wins. We need her in Congress.

Very sharp lady. Outside of DeMint, Ryan, the boys from Oklahoma and a few others, the ladies are the ones trying to move the GOP to the right: Palin, Bachmann, Blackburn, Rodgers-McMorris. Angela would be a great addition.

She will likely win the male vote in Mississippi! Can't wait to see/hear her on the House Floor, and probably telling the Lib-leaning Congressional Black Caucus to p-off.
You can hear the "sell out" howls already.
