Ex-Fox News pundit launches House bid in Miss. By Sean J. Miller - 02/09/10 06:13 PM ET
Conservative author Angela McGlowan (R) launched her bid to unseat Rep. Travis Childers (D-Miss.) Monday by declaring herself pro-life, pro-gun and pro-small business.
"In Massachusetts, the people rose up and reclaimed their seat in the U.S. Senate in an election that's been compared to 'the shot heard around the world,'" McGlowan, a former Fox News Channel contributor, said in a statement. "But that was just the beginning, let the rebellion in the House of Representatives start right here in Mississippi."
Childers beat Southaven Mayor Greg Davis (R) by 10 points in 2008.
McGlowan, an Oxford, Miss., native, had declared in spring 2008 that she intended to run for Childers' seat. She now faces state Sen. Alan Nunnelee and former Eupora Mayor Henry Ross in the June 1 Republican primary. Nunnelee recently reached "contender" status in the National Republican Congressional Committee's Young Guns program.

when it comes to the 2nd amendment, she is clueless. That would disqualify her in my mind Eeyore can't read.

People shouldnt disqualify a candidate over one issue.Depends on what that one issue is.

pro gun sounds good. I don’t think she has a clue what it means though. See post #19.

One has to look at the entire picture and the alternative candidate.

You're right. One issue shouldn't preclude somebody from voting for someone.
However, shouldn't a discrepancy with a seminal Constitutional issue disqualify them from ever being elected in the first place?

Eeyore can't read.I can read. I can think too.
...declaring herself pro-life, pro-gun and pro-small business"As I stated to a different poster, you're right, she's not anti gun.
She is, however,
pro registration.
Perhaps you'll answer my query...
And registration never leads to confiscation, does it?

Oh, I don’t know. Why don’t we ask the zero in the WH? I think you misunderstand Angela’s position. Please recheck it before you disqualify her on grounds that may or may not have merit. Words can be twisted. I think she’s solid.

I think you misunderstand Angelas position.Have you listened to what she said at reply #19?
Please recheck it before you disqualify her on grounds that may or may not have merit.
How about you answer my question and then we'll chat some more.

1:56 AG: And for you gun toting people out there I'm sorry but I do believe that guns should be registered and people should know and the government should know.
It doesn't get any plainer than that!

And again...
3:29 I think the government has the right to know what guns we have in our homes and I'm sorry, I do.
What am I supposed to be misunderstanding?

This, apparently, wasn’t what I was referring to. I don’t think she meant we shouldn’t be allowed to have guns.
I think guns should be registered. It sure helps when they’ve been used in committing a crime. We have the right to bear arms, but, we also have a responsibility to that privilege. I have to believe this was the underlying reason for gun registration. As usual, those who break the law, ruin it for every one.
