The man with the truck will soon be the man with a book.
Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.), the party's hottest elected official, has decided to write a book that combines memoir and inspiration.
Gail Gitcho, his new Senate communications director, tells POLITICO: Senator Brown is honored and humbled to be approached by many people who want him to tell his inspirational personal story about his life leading up to his election as a United State Senator from Massachusetts. He will tell his story in a book in hopes of providing insight and encouragement to others and also to ensure that the record is complete and accurate.
"Part of the book proceeds will be donated to charity," Gitcho continued. "Senator Brown will work with a collaborator so he can continue to focus fully on his service to the people of Massachusetts, which is, and always will be, his first priority.
Brown has hired Robert Barnett of Williams & Connolly, who is the city's leading counsel to politician-authors, to help him through the process.
The book is permitted under Senate rules. Aides say anything Brown does regarding the book will be reviewed and approved by the Senate Ethics Committee.
No decision has been made on timing or publisher.

I wonder if his book will include a centerfold? Somebody had to say it.
Yessiree!!!
You need to give up your obsession, esp. since joining FR the day of his election.
I wouldn’t be one complaining.
:D
That’s a lie. Romney was the behind the scenes campaign booster for Brown. Its well documented, esp. here on FR.
Note to maggief, from Onyx, Do you mean pics from his modeling days?
It will be ghost written. It can’t hurt, it may help.
Good luck to him!
The guy is a frakkin idiot. He is already coming apart. American Idol, now a book. A 98 lb. weakling! We need serious people.
Just like 0bama wrote two stinkin’ biographies
I would tell Scott to cool his jets...bad idea
Sure, that works.
More tool pics too. :D
“How about Scott Brown sticking to his day job for a while...”
I’m relieved that his election saved us, at least temporarily, from going over the brink but I want to see how he performs his duties for a while before becoming a presidential candidate (unlike our present “flash in the pan” President.
Not true.
Mitt Romney: PAC supporters basking in Scott Browns win
Romney Takes Ownership of Brown Victory
From the last article above:
Governor Romney asked his entire political team to help the then-unknown Brown, and he raised early money for him at a time when very few people would give him a second look.
Indeed, several key figures in Browns victory -- notably Eric Fehrnstrom, Beth Myers, and Peter Flaherty -- were and continue to be Romney people.
Browns campaign manager, Beth Lindstrom, was a member of Romneys Cabinet; his press secretary, Felix Browne, was a deputy press secretary under Gov. Romney; Brown finance director Priscilla Ruzzo held that same post in Romneys 1994 Senate race; and Will Ritter was a key advance staffer for Romney before he worked for Browns campaign.
And while the forces that fueled Browns victory were far larger than any endorsements, Romney was the only major politicians who shared the stage with Brown on election night.
Romney may have been behind the scenes, but Brown refused to campaign with him publicly, at least in the last 8 weeks or so before the election.
So Romney was Geppetto then. Ok.
Facts are stubborn things! :)
Just do the damn job you were elected to, Senator. We dont need another self spankulating politician who thinks they are the Messiah.
Meanwhile MA gov Deval Patrick who may or may not be re-elected (poll numbers are horrible but a 3 person race could help him) agreed long ago to write a book about his remarkable life (NOT!) I think he has failed to turn in
chapters on deadline, etc., and don’t know when it will come out. How many copies would it sell? Article below had said it would come out in “2010”; time will tell
>>Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, his state’s first black governor and a close ally of presidential candidate Barack Obama, is writing a memoir that will be published by Broadway Books in 2010.
more stories like this
The deal is worth $1.35 million and nine publishers competed for the book, currently untitled, according to agent Todd Shuster of the Zachary Shuster Harmsworth Literary Agency. Patrick will donate some of his royalties to A Better Chance, a nonprofit educational organization that helped Patrick attend the Milton Academy, south of Boston.
“Drawing upon his extraordinary journey from Chicago’s Wabash Avenue to the Massachusetts State House on Boston’s fabled Beacon Hill, Gov. Patrick will offer in his book a series of lessons and insights on life and leadership,” according to a statement released Friday by Broadway Books, an imprint of Random House, Inc.
LOL.
Both parties are so desperate for leadership they will grab anyone who looks and sounds good. We need people with a long history of accomplishment, not a flash in the pan. That’s how we got Obamateur.
My sentiments exactly. Of course, since I don't live in MA, I didn't vote for him, but I did send his campaign a check.
OTOH, this sounds EXACTLY like the resume of the current occupant of the WH:
A state senator.
Then a US senator.
Immediate talk of a presidential run.
An autobiography written by a young man.
