What is her gravitas besides a few opinions? She ever run anything? Im amazed anyone could compare her to Sarah and have her come out ahead. Exactly.
"Gravitas"? This guy is assigning gravitas to a relative newcomer, who for all appearances is mostly just a rebel, and at the same time, attempting to reduce or invalidate someone of Sarah Palin's stature who has actually accomplished a great deal in her life?
Phhhhhhttttt.......

"He took me out of Ron Pauls district, and I am now in Lloyd Doggetts "I feel your pain, really. Delay's reallocation took me OUT of dogshit's district, and put me in McCaul's. I think McCaul is a great Rep.

People wondered how much damage Obama could do.
We know the answer to that.
Some people don’t learn from history.
Pity.

I don't trust Palin as far as I can throw her. You're obviously as clueless a Palin hater as any garden variety liberal.
No need for me to explain why. You've been here long enough to have seen every bit of logic and reason that dismantles your arguments against her.

Problem is that her business never has done anything. Look at her background for pete’s sake. Payroll? for who?

Yep. You called that one right. Austinites lusting for acceptance by their “betters” on the other coasts...(”I’m not one of those Texans. I subscribe to Texas Monthly!”)

Perhaps, but it is the repudiation of Bill White that matters.

you don’t need any experience to be elected Governor or to congress or President. The founders didn’t write you need executive experience in the constitution did they?
To: brytlea
I was really surprised to see Palin back Perry instead of Medina. It is a serious question whether Palin can prevent being co-opted by the establishment. Backing McCain and Perry are not good signs.
To: takecontrol
Yeah, but does she write crib notes on the palms of her hands?
To: takecontrol
Medina winning. What a disaster that would be. Almost as bad a Obama.

Forget Medina. You have to support the establishment candidates. They have been party approved!!!
Exactly. After all, they have all of that really valuable political “experience”. We can’t elect citizens who are self-supporting and who haven’t spent a lifetime lusting after political office.

Ok, the statement
If Medina wins it will make news as a repudiation of Sarah Palin.
Sounded to me like you believed it was a repudiation of Sarah and would be reported as such.
My bad, but I would have expected a statment like.
If Medina wins, the media will make it into a repudiation of Sarah.
I just misunderstood you. :-)

A Paulista would be good for Texas? In my opinion....absolutely NOT!!
And she has been a Ron Paul head cheerleader.
These Libertarians run on the Republican ticket because they know there's no way they'd have a chance on the Libertoon ticket. And they try to hide their Libertoon-ness when running in an election like this.
Some of us won't be fooled.
I also don't like her shameless pandering to one minority group. We're all Texans, no matter what our ethnic background. Debra seems to think some are more equal than others.

Geez, another Newbie flackin’ for Medina. You might mention to people that Paul Burka is a hardcore Democrat who is obviously out to split the Republican vote and get Bill White elected.

No, I don't think that a person had to have held public office to be eligible but they do need some experience with running a business and dealing with people. I think the larger business the better and having a law degree doesn't hurt. Medina can get up and say anything she wants to say but it doesn't mean that she would be capable of handing all the business that the Gov. of Texas would have to handle. I would have more faith in her abilities if she started a little lower on the ladder and worked her way up. Coming out of the dark to the governorship is a stretch for me. I am thinking the the very things that I worry about are the same things that make you like her. I'll just say if I need a surgical procedure I am looking for the doctor with the most experience and the best record not someone who just got out of med school yesterday and hasn't done anything.
