Will Republicans, Once Again, Snatch Defeat From The Jaws Of Victory?

Congressional Republicans may resurrect ObamaCare from the dead. You read that right… Republicans in Congress may actually fall for a political trap being set by Barack Obama designed to breathe new life into ObamaCare. That’s why it’s imperative we take decisive and immediate action to stop them.

As reported by The New York Times: "President Obama said Sunday that he would convene a half-day bipartisan health care session at the White House to be televised live this month, a high-profile gambit that will allow Americans to watch as Democrats and Republicans try to break their political impasse."

Of course, you don't need us to tell you that there is no current "political impasse." That’s because ObamaCare is already effectively dead. This so-called "bipartisan health care session" is nothing more than a trap... a scheme designed to trick Republicans in Congress into helping Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid bring it back from the grave.

There was a better move available to them.

As Rush put it: "True bipartisanship here is to say 'no' to Obama's health care bill. Republicans, Independents and Democrats across the country are opposed to this. That's where the bipartisanship is, if you care about it."

And keeping Rush's point in mind, here's the statement that Boehner and McConnell could have offered:

With all due respect to President Obama, while we believe that the lines of communication should always remain open, the American people have spoken. A sizable majority reject ObamaCare and any further discussion on the matter would be an insult to the American people. Therefore, we must, with sincere regret, refuse his invitation at this time.

However, in the coming weeks, we will bring a number of step-by-step approaches back to the floor of the House and Senate that actually will make health care more accessible and more affordable for millions of Americans. And we trust that the majority party will not shut us out of the process this time around and that President Obama will remain open to a bipartisan health care session to discuss these measures.

If Republicans loose this bout, there is ZERO reason to vote for them. Go Independent

Nobody believes me but this is all part of Rahm’s “Operation Albatross” plan to sink the GOP for good.

I seriously believe that Obama hopes Iran gets nukes and does something in this country before the November election so he can shut them down and try to suspend the Constitution (which he cannot by law, do). He cannot suspend the whole thing. He can suspend habeus corpus is certain hotbed areas, but he does not have the power to say the whole thing isn’t in effect.

Well .. I think Boehner has met with Rush (at least that’s what Rush said - they played golf together). Because of that .. it was interesting to watch Boehner’s calm manner and body language when Gretta interviewed him last night (I think it was last night). Gretta kept pressing him about what Boehner intended to do about the proposed summit with the President.

I just couldn’t get over the impression that Boehner wasn’t telling Gretta his plan because he didn’t want to tip his hand. Telling your enemy what you plan to do has gotten a lot of people killed (some literally). It’s better to spring a surprise - and leave the enemy holding the bag.

But .. if any repubs even try to deal with the dems regarding the 2 pieces of junk legislation that couldn’t get passed .. then they need to pack their bags .. because they have just been FIRED!!

And .. I heard that the President is planning on consolidating the House and Senate legislation (before the meeting), and then present it at the meeting .. leaving the repubs wide open to get pounded .. if they surrender (which Obama is counting on), the dems will have passed garbage legislation and they will be removed .. BUT .. the trap is .. if the repubs say NO and get up and walk out .. the dems will not be able to pass it and then Obama can get on TV every day and night and blame the repubs because Obamacare didn’t pass.

I hope the repubs are not stupid enough to fall for it.

Pubs with their heads on halfway straight, like Scott Brown, know that this has to go back to the drawing board. I hope they do not ignore the reason that Scott Brown joined them.

Let the Bummer do just that! Each time, there will be more and more applause -- to the GOP.

Absolutely!! I hope they do it!

But .. I’d just as soon they didn’t even go to the meeting. I agree with Rush that it’s a trap.

The Repubs need to put an end to this “party of no” crap. They need to march in there and say “We are not the party of NO. We are the party of YES. YES, America we hear you and YES America we will oppose a government take over of your healthcare. And YES America we will oppose this president and stand on the side of the people.” That is how they need to phrase this whole thing!!!!! Then they can say, “Mr.President you and your super majority congress are the party of NO. You have told America NO, we will not listen to you but rather we will shove this horrid bill down your throat” “We are not the party of NO, you are.” Then they need to get up and walk out!!!!!

If they don't it will be evidence of procedural incompetence.

That is effectively what is done by a Congressional Declaration of War. I expect if Iran does something significant as Khamenei has promised that President Soetoro will ask Congress for a Declaration of War. That pretty much suspends the Constitution insofar as the President feels he needs. He would never declare it or certain articles suspended. He would just act as if they do not exist and the Court will refuse to hear challenges. The difference from WWs I and II is that this time the Declaration might not go out of force because official hostilities might never end unless/until Washington becomes the seat of the Western Caliphate.

The Democrats will wail with Blame and Infamy on the Republicans. The voters will breathe more easily and vote Republican in November. Really all the Social Democrats have to do is promise to invite the Republicans to their fashionable cocktail parties again.
